Biography

Matt G(aka Djay7) started out back in the early 90s, playing mainline dance and pop music as the resident DJ at a local bar. After watching other Djs and listening to their taste in music, and seeing the crowd’s response to certain tunes, he decided that this was just something he had to get involved with.

The dance side of music then lit a passion within for banging basslines, happy vocals and pianos. As this passion grew, along with more obscure mixes of then famous tunes, he ended up progressing up to more luxurious winebars for the weekends, thus enabling him to play more of what he liked, which has now ended up being progressive house, trance and the like.

Following his original career direction (in I.T. & technology) in the week, it became apparent that this weekend life (Thurs, Fri, Sat) could not be upheld along with the working commitments in the week. The weekend playing had to be put on hold after a couple of years, due to commitments and working away from home etc.

After spending almost 8 years out on the road DJing, he decided that he could not leave it alone, so set up his equipment at home to enable personal remixes and continued playing and practice. With the new advancements on the internet, and new radio stations online appearing, he decided that it could be possible to play for some of these places when time allowed. You can now find him on the internet playing for some of the well known radio sites playing House, Progressive House, Dance, Trance and some harder mixes.

As for playing out on the road again, he now only plays private parties, but he did say “Never say never!” when asked if we would ever consider playing bars/clubs again.

He is currently in his mid 30s, and lives in the Midlands, UK.

His playlists are inspired by the likes of Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Tiesto, Deep Dish, Hoxton Whores, Deadmau5 and the likes.
