Matt first started DJing in 1994 and promoted his first night in 1995 called ‘Relish’. In the summer of ‘95 he took records over to Ibiza and got some work at venues in the notorious ’West End’. In the same year, Matt got his first residency at ‘Kick’ (then Pump) in Burton, playing alongside regular guests Ian M, Rachel Auburn and The Lovely Helen.
Matt then in ‘97 started a new night called ’Moo!’. Matt did three events over three month at ‘The Edge’ in Tamworth. The first month hosted Tony De Vit and the second month, Judge Jules. After an unsuccessful third month the night stopped towards the end of the year and Matt concentrated on his other residency at ‘The Milki Bar’ and regular guest slots at ‘Crunch’ and ‘The Steering Wheel’.
In ‘98, Matt played for ’The Arches’ in Sheffield and did a 30-minute ‘Choice FM’ live mix. Towards the end of the year, Matt started his residency with Access.All.Areas at Essence in Nottingham. He was the main resident playing alongside regular guests Judge Jules, Seb Fontaine, Alex P, Brandon Block, Sonique and Dave Seaman. Many of the nights were broadcast live on local Nottingham radio. In this year, Matt started ‘Milki Float’. This event ran for 5 years on a large riverboat on Worcester’s River Seven. Matt did approx. 4 per year until the final trip in 2003.
Matt continued to promote other nights like ‘The Horn’, which was a one-off event in December ‘98 at ’Xenon’ in Tamworth. Alongside Matt was Seb Fontaine. There were over 1000 people at the night.
In 1999, Matt started to work for ‘Euphoria’ at Crazy Daisy’s. In this year also, Matt started his residency with ‘Po Nah Nah’ in Cheltenham.
In the year 2000, Matt started his residency at ‘The Engine’. This very busy pre-club bar is situated next door to Passion (also Storm) in Coalville, Leics. In the summer of 2000, ‘Moo!’ was started again with guest such as John ‘00’ Flemming, AJ Gibson, JFK, Daniel Soto and Nick Rafferty. Matt also in this year had guest slots at a Friday night called ‘Moonfruit’. At the end of this year Matt promoted a one off event called ‘Senses’ with Brandon Block. Matt then started playing for ‘Deliverance’ and ’Mother’s Earth’ in 2001.
In 2002, Matt began a residency for Bakers every Saturday night playing alongside regular big named guest DJs.
Since May 2002, most of Matt’s time has been spent promoting his own venue Bullit. In the nearly four years since opening, Bullit has hosted guests such as Jon Carter, Allister Whitehead, Lisa Loud, Brandon Block, Alex P, K-Klass, Hed Kandi residents, Sonique, Jeremy Healy, ATFC, Wobble, Jonathan Ullysses, Richard F, Daniele Davoli, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Phats & Small, Jazzy M, Stonebridge, Danny Rampling, Howard Donald and Soul Central. With his regular weekly DJ sets at Bullit, Matt can also be seen at Miss Moneypennys, GodsKitchen, Fuel, Twist and Hidden.
