Matan “Mat Zo” Zohar (born April, 1990) is a British progressive dance music producer, composer and DJ. The son of successful artist and musician Israel Zohar, Matan Zohar was born in London, England in 1990. He was raised by his mother who was a professional violinist, who allegedly possessed staunch musical ethos. From age one to eleven, Zohar and his family lived in the city of Cleveland, Ohio in the United States. It was there at age 8 where his father presented young Zohar with a guitar as a gift. He returned at age 11 to London and continued pursuing his musical interests as a drummer and bassist as a member of a jazz and rock band respectively. However, Zohar became more interested in musical acts such as Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers, and his musical inclinations shifted to those of electronic dance music and DJing. After 3 years living and producing music in London, his recording began to gain attention and play time by other disc jockeys such as DJ Tarkan, Perry O’neil, Swedish Egil, DJ R-Man, Jav D, Micah, Airwave, Andy Moor and Markus Schulz3 In the 2009 publication of DJ Magazine’s top 100 poll he was described by musical acts Above & Beyond, Lange and Daniel Kandi as a promising producer. Arty (born Artem Stolyarov on September 28, 1989 in Engels) is a Russian trance DJ and producer. In 2009, Arty released his first production at the age of 19. His EP Vanilla Sky appeared on the label Enhanced Progressive and brought him to the attention of several DJs. His single “Bliss” appeared on tracklisting of A State Of Trance with Armin Van Buuren in early 2010 and his breakthrough came later that year when Above & Beyond signed him on their label Anjunabeats. They featured his singles Rush and The Wonder in their club sets and on their radio show Trance Around the World. In 2011 he released Zara, his third single on the Anjunabeats label.
In 2011 Arty collaborated with Mat Zo, another trance artist signed to Anjunabeats. Their first joint production Rebound was released on April, 19 2011 as 200th single of Anjunabeats. The song was voted Webvote Winner on three straight occasions in the radio show Trance Around the World. At the anniversary party ASOT 500 of Armin van Buurens radio show A State of Trance on April, 9th 2011 in Den Bosch the two DJs played on the Main Floor along some well established DJs such as Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, and Armin himself.
Since 2011, Arty has a monthly residency on the radio show Anjunabeats Worldwide. On April, 11 2011, the compilation Anjunabeats Worldwide 03 was released, co-produced by him and Daniel Kandi.
In 2010, Arty reached position 78 in the Top 100 DJs election of DJ Magazine.At the International Dance Music Awards 2011 he was nominated in the category Best Break-Through DJ. However, the award went to Afrojack. Arty climbed 53 spots to position 25 on the “Top 100 DJs” list in 2011.
