Martell Beatport

Biography

He was borned in 1983 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Since an earlier age, he is been influenced by music and he did not wait much more to compose his first megamixes with a head double cassette deck as copy-paste, with songs recorded from the radio. He bought his firsts second-hand turntables when he was 13 and then he began to introduce himself in the exciting Djs world, mixing Dance and Ministry sounds of that time and taking his first contact with vinyls.

Martell defines himself as a chameleon-like Dj, without loosing his own stile. His passion for music makes him to develop any style, but he is very influenced by the underground scene? low and hard sounds, sounds with feeling, surrounding vocals distinguish his sessions in such a way that his sets can contain deep-house, commercial and tribal house, the darkest progressive house, electro, minimal, tech-house? always transmitting to the dance floor what the public wants. His progressive-house surrounding sounds together with more electrical sounds and some vocals crossovers prove that he is a bright hope of the scene of the Canary Islands.

After three years without dijing and with a lot of work outside the booth, he returned more enthusiastically and with more energy to show his work in different radio projects. PCL Radio, OJR Radio, Fusion FM, Univerdance and Flaix Fm are radio stations that broadcast his sets, starting again in different clubs of the island (Deep Club, Navy, Pick up, Alameda, Burn, Liquid, El Cielo, Noa, Las Brujas, Pacha, etc), and taking part in events of Canarias Dj portal and Global Experience group.

Later, he joined ToDjs programme, daily broadcasted by Univerdance and afterwards by Fusion Fm and captained by Jaime García. His will to learn and the wisdom of Jaime García, helped Martell to develop himself as radio announcer and to improve his technique as Dj. So, Jaime turned into his ?musical godfather? and they began to work together in some projects (a DVD for the 10th anniversary of Vale Music and he has also licensed tracks for the CD of the same music company ?cultura de club 07?).
