Biography

Hotly tipped as one to watch in 2009, Mark Holmes is fast becoming an established name on some of the most respected download charts. He has supported some of the world’s finest DJ’s including the likes of Pete Tong, Nic Fanciulli, Paul Woolford, Clive Henry, Jon Gurd, Audiojack and James Holroyd to name but a few.

Mark often collaborates in the studio with OD Muzique and Lewis Keykay as well as doing his his own productions, and of course regularly with his best mate Ticker (who he produced many a track with under his previous HOLMTIK alias). A monthly DJ residency on the 3rd Saturday of every month for Disco Electronica (voted 2nd best night in the north’ according to DJ mag) at Manchesters world famous Sankeys, is the place you can catch him play his unique style of deep tech house and grooving techno.

His last 2 releases have hit number 1 in the DJ Mag Dance Floor Destroyers chart (Pursuit of Sound & Sundazed) and Mark is currently pioneering a new project alongside OD Muzique which has already seen them signed to Love Minus Zero, Baroque, Craft, 54 Music, Killawatt, Manchester Underground Music (M.U.M.) and remix D Ramirez’s and Indo for Azuli.. The innitial pre release reactions have been unreal, with the likes of Laurent Garnier, Hybrid, King Unique, Mark Knight and Marc Romboy heavily supporting.

Mark also plays a large part in the Manchester Underground Music (M.U.M.) label where he works alongside Jonathan Waller as A & R Manager, as well as being the in house mastering engineer for the label. He has well over 2 albums worth of signed music, backed up and ready to be released. Not to mention Mark was one of three winners for the Get Physical Remix Contest for Disco Pixies which has recently been released on Baroque as Jungle Pixies.
