Marie Fisker is from Copenhagen, Denmark. As a singer she has appeared in various contexts before releasing her long awaited debut album Ghost Of Love in 2009. With the album she surfaced as a composer and bandleader with an original, strong and personal sound.
Her music is a fine blend of down tempo rock’n’roll tunes that takes you on a sonic journey somewhere between PJ Harvey and Velvet Underground. Sometimes noisy, sometimes soft but always with Marie’s silky and passionate voice in the centre of the songs.
In her native Denmark she is the winner of the Danish Music Critics Award ”Steppeulven” (2010, hope of the year). Marie has also been touring with Trentemøller all around the World and the two have collaborated on a few tracks including the single Sycamore Feeling and most recently the Chris Isaak cover, Blue Hotel.
Marie Fisker released an EP in May 2011 with her new single Mirror Mirror. The EP also features interpretations of songs from Marie’s debut album performed The Raveonettes and Chimes & Bells.
Right now Marie Fisker is busy working on her second album.
