Biography

INTRODUCTION

Hampshire born in 1970 LincolnG was introduced to House Music at it’s introduction to the Uk in the mid eighties. Despite discouragement from many saying “What is that shit ??” soon recognised what a big thing it could be and followed the likes of others into the Dj business.

FIRST BEGINNINGS

With a knack for innovation and electronics (with the help of his Dad) he set about building his first Dj setup – with dual BSR Decks, home built mixer, lights and finery, setup a makeshift club in a garden shed for his friends – who were soon asking him to do parties for them at various venues in and around the area.

GUILDFORD & THE GREYHOUND

In 1989 LincolnG moved to Guildford where the University Student Union offered new outlets for his music. It was during this time that he discovered “The Greyhound”, a small but packed disco bar where owner Andrew Bird was in need of a talented House Dj.

3b’s & 21 SOUTH STREET

During the three years LincolnG played at Guildford he was introduced to Mark Healy who was in the process of setting up a bi-monthly event for the Reading Health Awareness Project. Soon a massive success was pulling in young people from all over and at this point LincolnG got the attention of major Club Promoters.

LONDON AND BEYOND

During the following years LincolnG played at many well known London Club’s and bars, including Heaven, 2 Brewers, Coliseum, Bromptons, Coleherne, Stag, Astoria, Colnbrook Greyhound, Ted’s Place, Richmond Arms and many more – some now deceased.

FROM ELLEN BOYZ to MARCUS SVENSOR

Even first attempts at production proved successful. 1352 based of ‘that’ Verve sample becoming a techno classic of the era formed the basis of later creations – such influence to be found in “The Banana Boat Song” and “La Luna”. In 2006 LincolnG joined forces with Jau Agudo to create MARCUS SVENSOR & CHEEZIEMASH RECORDINGS. Under this guise the partnership made various releases including – Mr. Smoothy, Forever, I call you, Someday sun and Ascent. I call you, combined with a vocal from Stephan O’Godson was enormously successful and managed to reach number 6 in the commercial club chart.

OFF TO CATALUNYA

In 2007 LincolnG packed up and left for Catalunya, Spain. He continues producing remixes and original tracks. He can be found playing as resident his local Discopub “Codigo” in Alcanar, Tarragona.
