MARCUS KNIGHT

(Artist Profile – Biography)

The road is long and winding elevating to heights and witness to natures beauty. My desire to create art is nothing more than an idea, a thought, a moment in time and my personal decision to reveal or conceal to the outside world.

Welcome to my world of music, you are not just a guest but part of my extended family, MY HOUSE IS YOUR HOUSE! -

Marcus Knight

Turn back the clock to the early 90’s, Knight was caught up in the R&B/Hip Hop culture inspired by artists and producers such as Teddy Riley, Dr Dre, Rodney Jerkins, Babyface and Quincy Jones.

Self taught in music programming, Knight’s earlier works combined rap and soul/r&b vocals collaborating and touring with many vocalist including Soul Class, Pound System, Vanessa Amorosi and Ladi-Tash.

He would begin to DJ alongside longtime friend Xander James in his local area where his interest in dance music would develop. “After hearing Armand’s My My My in Xander’s car, my love for house music began”.

Fast forward to 2010, Knight would be given the opportunity to officially remix that same track hit top 30 on Beatport.com and feature on Sony Music’s Smash It Compilation mixed by Knight and Ken Walker.

Knight also founded his own label Generation producing many hits on Beatport, Juno and DJ Download.

The year 2010 would see Knight tour Ibiza for the first time playing at Bora Bora along side one house music pioneer, Lenny Fontana.

In his native Australia, he has played alongside Pete Tong, Chuck Love, Ron Carroll, TV Rock and many others.
