One of the scenes most impressive international DJ talents and creatively consistent producers, Marc’s diary has seen him appear at many of the world’s leading super venues. Venues such as Avalon in Los Angeles, Zouk in Singapore, The Guverment in Toronto, X2 in Jakarta and Ministry of Sound in London. Marc has been a regular feature for the world’s finest events at Cream, Pacha, Spundae, Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, The Elle Style Awards 2011, Hugo Boss Fashion Shows, Sundance Festival and the Amsterdam Dance Event. His bursting repertoire of club performances has led to festival appearances for Glastonbury, Global Gathering, Homelands, Berlin Festival, Bug Hole Festival in Turkey, where he shared the stage with The Chemical Brothers, Escape in the park where he played alongside Tiësto in front of 20,000 people, Ministry of Sound NYE beach party in Mombassa and the Official Formula 1 After parties in Singapore, Monaco, Dubai, Sao Paulo and New Delhi. The year 2011 also saw Marc perform in front of his biggest audience to date with a headline slot at the Street Parade in Switzerland where he played to a wild 900,000 people on the streets of Zurich.
Over the years his travels as an electronic music artist have led to him to captivating crowds worldwide, in countries as far afield as America, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Canada, China, the Philippines, Hungary, Singapore, Japan, The Netherlands and Russia. International support DJ for music legend Boy George, Marc’s profile has reached unprecedented levels with everyone from DJ MAG, Mixmag, The Sun, CNN, E! News and The Guardian giving coverage to his artist profile and music releases.
It is this exposure and the celebration of his club night Koolwaters 10th birthday that led DJ Magazine to invite Marc and his club night Koolwaters to host a room for two years running at the 2010 and 2011 Top 100 DJ Award Party at Ministry of Sound. Sharing the bill with heavyweight rockers such as Deadmau5, Afrojack, Fedde Le Grand, and Armin Van Buuren the award parties have been momentous occasions for the international, Bristol-based club brand Koolwaters.
Tipped in the Top 10 DJ Mag Poll as one of the ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’s’ for 2010, DJ Magazine invited Marc, together with Boy George, to mix their hugely prestigious cover mount CD. The duo used this opportunity as a springboard for their new label VG Records; with the cover mount mix featuring a collection of new material from the label. The first release from the label ‘Sunshine into my life’, features the vocals of Basement Jaxx lead vocalist Sharlene Hector with support from Roger Sanchez, Chris Lake and Axwell.
Just as successful as a Producer, Marc’s releases have collectively received DJ support from Tiësto, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo and James Zabiela and radio support from Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Chuckie, Judge Jules, Capital Radio’s Andi Durrant and Kiss FM’s Steve Smart. January 2012 will see new releases on VG Records; Marc Vedo & Boy George feat Drew ‘Don’t take the night’ and ‘Kalino Mome’ featuring Bulgarian pop Queen Desi. His recent release ‘Escada’ signed to Kid Massives’ Get Down Records has so far been licensed to over 25 compilations. His follow up single on his own label Koolwaters Recordings ‘Chemical Fatboy’ is an instrumental juggernaut which has already found itself licensed to Hed Kandi’s latest Twisted Disco compilation, coming out on the 13th February. Marc also has an EP coming out in February 2012 with Housesessions and his remix of Boy George’s next club release ‘Brand New’ is scheduled for 2012 release on Decode Records. The latest Koolwaters compilation, ‘365’ reflects the brand’s emphatic style of house music, CD1 mixed by Marc himself and CD2 mixed by Godskitchen’s resident Paul Thomas. The album features a host of box fresh tracks from the likes of Fatboy Slim, Freemason’s, Chris Lake, D.Ramirez, Moguai, Marco V and many more.
Marc has also been collaborating with a slew of megastar artists. Most notably is his collaboration with musical icon George Michael. Their forthcoming track ‘Every Other Lover’ will be George Michael’s first official release for a number of years. Other collaboration projects in the pipeline include Ministry of Sound’s resident Michael Woods, Skin (Skunk Anansie), David Penn, Afrojack, R3hab, Jesse Voorn and Tara MacDonald.
Starting 2012 as an official DJ Mag Tour DJ as well as a Pioneer Pro DJ the New Year looks to be an exciting progression of Marc’s career. Once dubbed by Mixmag as ‘the next Sasha’, Marc is undoubtedly an artist on the rise.
