Sachit Ananda – or better known as his stage name Mackeral – was born in Kajang, Selangor Malaysia on the 23rd of December 1992. Since then, the enthusiasm in music arose from within at the age of 10 when he first joined classes on guitar lessons and the keyboard. Reaching on his teen years, he ventured onto hip-hop and R&B where in that point of time he strived on becoming a rapper and a vocalist; thus joining singing and talent competitions.
With a lot of setbacks and struggles with both the pressures of scoring academically and pursuing his dream; finally at the age of 18, he went on producing his first remix (Rihanna – Only Girl (Mackeral Dirty House Remix)) and after that making his first single release of Brain Waves. Then, after his 19th birthday, he decided to venture into DJing and had his hands on the mixers and turntables for the first time at one of his friend’s birthday parties.
With little knowledge on the mixers and a few equipments to start of on his own, he was somehow self-thought on the art of mixing, with the help of his close friends and the information he gets from the internet. He also loves to experiment with new beats and styles of genre and dwells with his own styles of vocal synths.
Mackeral has a big taste in Minimal, Disco, House, Trash, Dirty Dutch and never fails to please his fans with his weird sense of tunes and styles of mixing. He always strives to bring something new to the table. However – now being 20 marking the end of the year 2012 – his original love for Hip-Hop and Alternative R&B never disappeared as his passion on making instrumentals labeled him an unofficial producer and a songwriter. Although there were no official releases of his tracks to portray his talents on both vocally and instrumentally, he claims to be bringing on something very big to the music industry by the end of 2012.
