What can I say about MacGuyver that already hasnt been said already? He first touched a turntable at the age of 18, and since then, it has taken him further than anyone could have hoped. It was to be expected early on, with names like Nigel Richards and Josh Wink as his influences. As he progressed, he landed many gigs in New Jersey and Philadelphia, and built his now trademark sound of hard progressive trance. He was hungry to attain greatness in electronic music, so in his college years he made sure to keep with it by doing mixes on 98.7 WFNN (NJ), Wild 106 (FL), and the #1 NCAB college station in the country 89.7 WGLS (NJ) all while maintaining an internship at Logic records, and balancing classes.
He knew he had further to go in the industry, so he kept one hand on the tables, and put one into the studio. He began working on tracks with several artists, such as Jade Starling of Pretty Poison. Not to mention he co-produced Honey Brown with Whey Cooler, which landed #26 on the Maxi Single Sales Billboard.
With this newfound success in production, he wanted to innovate with his refreshing style, so he looked forward to a new frontier: Boston, Massachusetts. When he got here, he started playing raves underlining some of the biggest talent in the world, with names like; Atomic Babies, Carl Cox, Joey Beltram, Bad Boy Bill, Frankie Bones, Barry Weaver and many more.
Since his arrival, hes built a well respected discography that includes the tracks: Break it Down Blined Records US, Is Calling b/w Do You High Density Records Italy (Which is already a huge record in NYC being played by Jonathan Peters, Scribbles, Tony Draper, Junior Vasquez, Scott Project, and in the mix on Groove radio in LA), and Angel Of Darkness High Density Records Italy. In addition, he was recently signed to Sound Assault Music / Beat The Music / IMG in the UK. Who current represent artist such as global giant as Gate Crasher. Even more impressive was the acquisition by, and huge response received by Watts Music on his latest single:
Marge Simpsons sisters favorite TV star, MacGuyver, has returned with his MASSIVE follow up to the HUGE dance floor success of Do You (which first landed on the scene back in December of 2000). One mix features haunting female vocals, ala Angel Of Darkness along with a turbo charged bass line, and lots of slammin Hi Gate styled synths. The flip features lots of cool operatic vocals chants from the classic smash Ofortuna along with huge drum kicks and some hard- hitting melodies. THE BOMB!!!
His musical variety now spans across a larger spectrum. He has the ability to spin a journey for the body and mind, dominating as he rips it up. So whats next for this trance guru? Numerous collaborations are in the works, and by all accounts MacGuyver is making the best music of his career to date. For starters there are some projects in the works with the other half of High Density Records / ISR, the infamous DJ / Producer, Lenny Dee. He also has just licensed Angel of Darkness and System Overload to Sony Records in Holland and Age of Machine DJ Networks Vol 15 Sony Music Germany. MacGuyver has also remixed MR Omega The Society as well. In addition, He has just finished up a Remix for Reflector Dreams (Neutone Records US). He also has joined forces with Mike Myers (611 Records – Philly). He continues to accept remix assignments for top artists and labels. Currently, about to be released is Orion Too “So Shy” (MacGuyver’s Tech House Mix) – Zelen Records US. So as you can see, hes come a long way, but that doesnt mean hes going to slack now. On the contrary, keep your eyes and ears open, because there is much more to come!!!
