Luke Dzierzek is a name that has made a massive impact on electronic music in the past twenty four months. With huge basslines, groovy as hell rhythms, massive stabs and admirers including the likes of Sasha, James Zabiela, John Digweed, Nic Fanciulli, Dave Seaman it’s no wonder why. The release of his innovative productions have gained many fans the world over and resulted in Dzierzek being recognised as one of the planet’s finest up-and-coming talents. ‘One Day’ and ‘Echo’ received acclaim from both clubbers and journalists alike, with the EP staying in the Buzz Chart for two weeks and being aired three times on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection Show and being hammered by everyone from Tiga to Paul Van Dyk. This was followed by ‘Timeless’ which after its release in October was at number 1 on DJ downloads Top 10 chart for four weeks and was eventually the websites 2nd most downloaded track of 2005. James Zabiela quoted “Echo” as one the best tracks of the last 5 years and hailing it as a future classic!
Fast forward to 2006 and it would have been easy for Luke to have taken his foot off the pedal however he has been quick to follow up such efforts with yet more amazing productions. His remixes of artists like Minilogue, Suicide Sports Club, Spencer Parker, have been massive in clubland being included on countless compilations all over the globe. Luke also hit another astounding landmark soon after by becoming the only artist ever to have 5 tracks in to the dj download top 10 at the same time!
Luke is now looking to spread his wings by causing as much devastation behind the decks as in the studio. His ability to read the crowd and rock the clubs have gained him huge respect all over the world. Gigs have come in thick and fast with Dzierzek showcasing his awesome sound on 5 separate tours Brazil, twice in 2006, and twice already in 2007, including gigs at the much lauded D-Edge club, Florianoplis Beach & Belo Horizonte. He also toured Mexico in 2006, as well as playing high profile gigs in Ministry Of Sound (Singapore), Rex Club paris, Spray Club (Pristina, Kosovo), Fast Forward (Croatia), Ambassada Gavioli (Slovenia) Global Club (Lithuania), Culture Box (Copenhagen, Denmark), Next Level (Kosovo), Stereo (Greece), Home (Turkey), Paradise Garage & Kubik (Portugal) Godskitchen (China), Trilogy Club (Dubai) Russia and many more! In the UK Luke has been making massive waves with regular appearances for The Turnmills, Club Class @ Ministry Of Sound, Renaissance @ The Cross, Fling @ The Loft, Mint Club (Leeds), Tech Noir (Sheffield), Ultra @ The Custard Factory, Platform 12 @ The Key, The Zap Club in Brighton and many many more! Luke already has many more gigs in the diary for 2007 including trips to Croatia to headline alongside Booka Shade with promoter friends Techno Mafia, Brazil, Mexico, Europe and many more!
Now in 2007 Luke’s profile has now exploded to a whole new level. As well as remixing the massive ‘Stabbing Sally’ single by Marcella for Renaissance, & house legends, King Unique’s latest single ‘Yohkoh’. his track ‘Echo’ (first released in 2005) was chosen by Citroen to be as the track to feature on their massive summer advertising campaign. The advert that features a robotic car has been catapulted into virtually every home in the country.
If that wasn’t enough Luke launched label and club night ‘FLING’ the label launched in July with a 4 track EP from Luke that shows a progression and maturity beyond his years, encompassing driving house techno, minimal and electonic influences, and has gained major support from the likes of Pete Tong (Played on Radio1), Sasha, John Digweed, James Zabiela, Sander Klienenberg, Lee Burridge, Nic Fanciulli, Sven Vath, Steve Lawler, Justin Robertson, Hernan Cattaneo, John Acquaviva and many more. The label will also give Luke the opportunity to showcase talent from around the world which has previously not been given the chance to shine, with further releases lined up from fellow young guns Le Noir from Switzerland, TG & Alex Tepper (UK) the label looks set to prosper and innovate from the word go!
The FLING club nights launched in June 2007 with headline djs like Lee Burridge & Jimpster, King Unique and Phil Kieran. The night has been a huge success with a packed club and amazing atmosphere that hailed by many who attended as the start of something special.
