Lily McKenzie has had a passion for singing and song writing from the early age of 7, when she would write songs accompanying herself on her first instrument, the piano. The former Brit School student and Music Business Degree graduate has honed her craft and sound to create a unique hybrid of classical acoustic soul, mixed with minimal and electronic elements.
Lily has collaborated with producers and artists such as Breakage, Wiley, Wookie, Brackles, Funkystepz, and Falty DL to name but a few. These collaborations have enhanced her love for garage and UK bass which can be heard within her own records. A number of these records have been signed to record labels including Ministry of Sound, Planet MU, Hed Kandi and Viper Recordings.
The South Londoner has performed at numerous events including T in the Park’s ‘BBC Introducing’ stage, The BBC Maida Vale Studios, Ministry of Sound, Ronnie Scotts, XOYO, YoYo’s and iluvlive amongst others. She has also featured on the prevalent A64 series on SBTV which had an amazingly positive response. Having made a ripple on the scene and becoming a recognised name and talent amongst her musical peers, Lily is now ready to make waves.
Lily McKenzie’s distinctive soulful vocals, emotion evoking piano techniques and exceptional style of writing makes for a unique and addictive listening experience.
