DJ, label manager, producer. Born in 1975, living in Milan.
After ten years of spinning records and a whole life dedicated to the world of music Lele Sacchi is now internationally recognized as one of the best electronic and house music dj coming out of Italy. At 29 years old only he has nearly completed an all around the world trip djing in the best clubs and events (from San Francisco to Shanghai, from London to Madrid and everything in the middle), manages his own underground music label (Soundplant records), records music with the studio project Boogie Drama and Sacchi & Sandiego (releasing tracks for some of the coolest European electronic and house labels such as 20-20 Vision and Moodmusic), he’s resident dj and artistic mind of the weekly club night Jetlag at Milan’s Magazzini Generali (the reference club for quality music in Italy) and does sound designing for fashion brands and exhibitions.
In 1999 his first mix compilation âThe Next Tribes Of House Musicâ is released and itâs a success both in the press and in the shops. The CD is âalbum of the weekâ on the then most important weekly of the dance music world, the British magazine 7 (the review ending up with the phrase âQuite simply superbâ). Thanks to this successes, to the first international gigs and the always growing gigs aside the top world djs, Lele Sacchi ends up behind the decks of JETLAG, the Friday nights of Milanâs MAGAZZINI GENERALI in the year 2000 (and never leaves). The night attracts averagely 1500 people and the booth sees both giants of the club scene like Carl Cox, Basement Jaxx, Sven Vath etc⦠and the cutting edge of the electronic world as Black Strobe, Steve Bug, Tefschwarz and co.passing by as guests. By the house community it is revered as one of the best clubs in Europe (and MTV viewers voted it best Italian club in 2004). In this same year he starts SOUNDPLANT records, a label dedicated to QUALITY music for djs. The releases are always supported and charted by a range of top world djs from the whole spectrum of the scene going from Dave Clarke to Groove Armada.
With the release of his second mix CD, âHouse Emotionsâ, Lele Sacchi imposes to a wider audience his elegant style that fuses house music, electronic sounds and echoes from the past. The gigs are now in some the best clubs around (from the Rex and Batofar in Paris to The Key, Cargo and Ministry of Sound in London, from Zeppelin in Moscow to the Sullivan Room in NY, from Privilege in Ibiza to La terrazza and City Hall in Barcelona) and he gets asked to play exclusive special events such as the official Madonnaâs Milan aftershow, Pradaâs Christmas party, the Biennale art in Venice or sound designing for catwalks and exhibitions (for the likes of Pitti, Diesel, New York Industrie, Adidas, Fornarina, Edra, Morosoâ¦)
In 2002 the studio project BOOGIE DRAMA is born with studio partner Sandiego. Together they remix the house-punk hit âWho Saidâ by Planet Funk and release trax and remixes for labels like the german Wasnotwas and Moodmusic, the cult English 20-20 Vision (as Sacchi & Sandiego) and Soundplant itself.
Despite being such a recent project Boogie Drama is already a hot name on the electro-hosue scene gaining full support and charts by cult djs like Andy Weatherall, Layo & Bushwacka, Ralph Lawson, Ivan Smaggha¨ and excellent reviews on the international magazines (âStalkerâs Grooveâ has been a Sureplayer single on English DJ magazine and Cut of the Month on Franceâs Only For DJs).
Those tracks have been license to cult compilations as âBUGNOLOGYâ by Steve Bug and GLOBAL UNDERGROUND by Danny Howells.
In 2004 Lele Sacchi has compiled and mixed a CD for the BARGROOVES compilation, the English collection of sophisticated house.
In the pipe for 2005 the compilation âNEO-ITALOâ which will put all the best recent production of the Italian wave in one CD, a follow up for WAS and 20-20 and a new US tour.
