Biography

Caleb Lau LAUD Laud has recently emerged on the electronic dance music scene after he attended Wet Electric in 2011. After a meet and greet session with legendary trance godfather, Paul Oakenfold, he discovered his passion for DJing.

LAUD earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration on Strategy & Entrepreneurship in 2012. He is now studying at Pyramind, a music production school called in San Francisco. Pyramind is where well known DJs and Producers including: Dheeraj Sareen, Liam Shy, The M Machine, SNR and many others have graduated in recent years. In the summer of 2012 Caleb became the sound engineer and stage manager for Karneycopia Acoustic Music Showcase for Left Angle Records an independent label owned by Anna Karney and her husband Bill Ortiz of the Carlos Santana band.

Caleb was also an event promoter for premiere nightclub, Vessel, in downtown San Francisco where Deniz Koyu, EDX, Fareoh and Moguai have performed. His knowledge of big artists and talents have placed him on the board as the Marketing and Event Coordinator of PLUR Alliance, one of the largest promoters in Northern California. LAUD has been involved with events such as: Give Thanks, Wintersalt, POPNYE, Swedish House Mafia: One Last Tour, Ultra Music Festival, Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival. He is currently working for The DJ List—the world’s largest DJ directory and media news publishing agency established in 1997.

LAUD’s first appearance at Treasure Island jump-started his career when he performed a live back-to-back 6 hour Indie Dance/Nu Disco set alongside other local acts. He has launched his San Francisco residency debut this year at Slide which led him to earning a double residency for Insomniac’s Awakening nights at Ruby Skye opening for heavyweight artists such as Gina Turner, Brazzabelle, Mightyfools, GTA, Sound of Stereo, John O’Callaghan, Audrey Napoleon, dBerrie, Pendulum, R3HAB, Vicetone, Matisse & Sadko and Danny Avila.
