Lank alias Péter Golyán is one of the most talented and most wanted Hungarian producers/DJs from the new generation. Thanks to the impact made on him by folk, classical and electronic music, he has an eclectic style, his tracks range from atmospheric, spacy, ambient titles to punchy, groovy techno music. His releases hit the charts of artists like Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Hybrid and Nick Warren.
From 2002 on he is active both as DJ and producer, and is well-known throughout the country by now. He made lots of people dance from small open-air parties to crowded clubs. Played at most popular venues in the country with many world famous DJs like Swayzak, Steve Lawler, Shiloh, Jimmy Van M, Roland Klinkenberg, Quivver, Eelke Kleijn, Dave Seaman, Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, Özgür Can, Terry Lee Brown Jr, Johnny Orange, The Timewriter and Jeff Bennett. He’s been invited to play in Greece, Russia, Germany and Serbia as well.
His tracks were published in 2003-2004 on several Hungarian compilatons and mix CDs and started to get more and more recognized outside of Hungary too, thanks to an increasing number of appearances on international DJ charts.
In 2006 popular labels from all over the world are interested in Lank’s new tracks. ‘Cowboys Again’ gets published by John ’Quivver’ Graham’s BozBoz label. It was a big step in our guy’s career as this release was supported by artists like Sasha, Anthony Pappa or Sander Kleinenberg. In the same year ‘Capnoscope EP’ released at No Smoking Records gained similar success.
From this moment on the releases come one after another, getting him more and more fans from around the world. He develops a unique and unmatched style in his DJ-sets. This fascinating dynamism and energy also applies to his productions, which are renowned by international star Djs.
2008 finds him making even more tracks and remixes, keeping on touring and playing at the best venues of his home country. Lot of successful gigs make him a very popular person in the Hungarian electronic music scene. His club-oriented bombs like ‘Wicked Soul’ and ‘Confrontation’ land in every progressive DJ’s bag, Hybrid also puts Confrontation on their SoundSystem 01 album. He starts working on an artist album for BozBoz Recordings, and gets to work together with british progressive house legend Quivver under the Grappa Rockers moniker.
His long-awaited debut album is released in April 2009, giving electronic music lovers a genre-busting journey through his personal style. Cruising, stirring, a range of classic and modern electronic music attributes with no compromise on quality. Everything from ambient melodic electronica & techno to house music is included.
Keeping the studio work on, he bombs the world with groundshaking remixes in the rest of the year. Labels like Baroque, microCastle and Proton sign him for some remixes, while he also starts a show called ‘Bounce Back’ on Proton radio, gaining massive success among the listeners.
Still excited before each gig, he tries to share his energetic, progressive house music with his grateful audience every weekend.
