Biography

Julien Roby aka DJU (BABYLON RECORDS)

All started for Dju in 2001 when he begun to write reviews & interviews for one of the French leading independent electronic music community: “Clubxtrem.net”. Dju earned there a strong & eclectic knowledge in music culture. He started DJing the same year, working hard to promote “Progressive & Forward Thinking Music” in his area.

Dju then worked with the brilliant guys from Screen Recordings, Italy (Stefano Greppi & Claude Ma-Te) and finally decided to work on his own label by the end of 2004.

2005 started with the launch of BABYLON RECORDS and its first release ‘Cassino & Laben – Leaving Panic Behind’. It was a very strong kick off for a new label, with support & plays from Gabriel & Dresden, Greg Benz, Shiloh, John Askew, John 00 Fleming, Fred Numf, Paul Van Dyk and many more…

The label lineup also features some of the hottest artists around: Habersham, Jacob Todd, Kosmas Epsilon, Can Costa, Ozgür Can, Paolo Mojo, Madoka, Brahma, Chris Lake, Shiloh, Trafik, Andrew K and will also bring some new promising talents as Joel Armstrong…

2005 also sees Dju starting to produce some music. His breakz mashup of James Holden “A Break in the Clouds” has already earned support from the Shiloh brothers.

Dju now also has two monthly Radio Shows, one on the ETN network and another one on Digitally Imported Online Radio and has been asked for Featured Artist mix on the brilliant Proton Radio.
