Deeper and darker than most tunes made by the big badman producers – Doctah Beats

John is a self confessed Music Junkie, every waking hour is spent writing or listening to music, or jumping around to it in a dark room.

Starting out as a promoter and dj in 2003 with Anthony Silkworm & Misztifiedmind, he went on to produce Trance & Tech live & dj sets for several years, with releases out on the legendary Bonzai. Every weekend was spent playing at underground events, squats & forests, aswell as mainstream clubs like SeOne, Hidden, Coronet, and the rest of the time tweeking noises and beats.

In 2009 John rediscovered the underground sound of Drum & Bass, influenced by productions from the likes of SpectraSoul, Break, Critical & Shogun Audio, John began to craft his own sound, based on his favourite elements of Trance & Tech. Blissful melodies, deep soundscapes and dirty beats, combined with rolling warped basslines and twisted tech.

When he’s not writing Drum & Bass, John can be found putting together an eclectic range of sounds, from classical to experimental EDM, and everything in between. With a background in Classical music, and a love of the Piano, there’s not much in the world of music John doesn’t love or isn’t influenced by.

John has several releases upcoming on BlueCheese & Lifestyle Recordings, aswell as a free Deep Minimal DubStep EP out now on SubSystem Audio

Gig info and releases can be found on his personal website, aswell as on John’s SoundCloud page (5meo), which he keeps upto date with all his latest tracks, ideas, expirments and WIP’s.

John is currently resident with Misztifiedmind (UK) & 7Sins (FR) aswell as spinning Electro-Tech/Prog for the Psychedelic Circle, and is putting together a new night under SubSystem Audio in London (UK) late Autumn 2011.
