Electronica – Progressive Trance
Although John Mig’s family background had no relation to music, music came into his life in a strange way.
The story begins many years ago when he was living in an apartment within a big old factory in Athens, Greece which was then developed into the popular and world famous club – ‘Ergostasio’. During its heyday from the mid-eighties to the nineties, it attracted the rich, famous and fashionable because of the quality of the music that they were taking from the New York and London scenes, together with the uniqueness of the venue.
At the tender of age of ten, the young DJ John Mig started to attract attention from MTV after starring in a video clip playing for Inner City’s world-wide hit ‘Good Life’. He soon started to play at beach parties and clubs and collaborated with 3 stellar DJ’s creating their own union named ‘Oceanus’. After experimenting with soul, rock, pop and house – he found his love in Progressive House and Trance through DJ’s such as Tiesto, Chicane, Paul Oakenfold, and Paul Van Dyk and began to hone his technical skills and music knowledge. At that period, John took the plunge to pursue his own productions and compositions and moved to London to study at the world renowned Music College ‘Point Blank’ which leads him on his own individual path of creativity and remarkable sounds.
He cites one of his career highlights as one of his mix sets ‘Common Sense 2’ Live from Ministry of Sound in London, holding second position on the Global Mix chart at Mix DJ, (the number one website for DJ’s of all kinds), and first position on the Progressive Trance chart for two weeks. In addition another mix set ‘The Ode Kazantip 2009’ one of the world’s largest Techno, Trance, and House music festivals in Ukraine, was awarded First (No:1) on the Global Charts Worldwide for the month of March in 2009, and has received incredible attention and positive feedback from many voters, with massive support on Mix DJ.com. This exact atmosphere was captured again at John’s gig with Sander Kleinenberg at the Ministry of Sound world tour in Ayia Napa in 2009.
The DJing skills that John Mig has developed over the years, together with his dedication to creating a unique mixture of progressive house and trance, resulted in ‘The Art of Music’ which launched in June 2009. It was immediately well received by one of the world’s favourite internet radio stations ‘Danceradio Global’. Since 2009, John has been the resident DJ of ‘Danceradio’ station, delivering high quality music that is being supported by some of the world’s most famous DJ’s including Paul Van Dyk, Mike Koglin, and Andy Duguid to name but a few.
Following the success of John’s ‘The Art of Music’, he achieved an accolade of being the artist of the month on Danceradio Global for January 2010. Since 2009 his radio show has been supported by some of the finest and talented DJ/Producers in Trance, with the likes of Andrew Rayel, Danilo Ercole, Aaron Camz, Alexandre Bergheau just to mention a few, providing guest mixes. Up to now The Art of music has been hosted from some of the well known trance radio stations like Danceradio Global and TRANCESONIC.FM . From now on its going to be broadcasted exclusively from 1Mix Radio.
In the past 2 years John Mig has been performing live at some of the most popular Trance Parties that London has to offer like “Trance Sanctuary, Dance Love Hub, Shimee” in various venues such as Supperclub and Egg Club.
At present, John is currently working towards presenting his own tracks and hopefully an album will follow. He has already started putting down ideas for the tracks so the projects are half finished at the moment. His theory behind the music is that it is his life’s greatest destination, and following this journey brings him happiness and that is why he has dedicated himself to this journey.
