Born in April 30,1992. John Dish fell in love with dance music at the age of 15, as the sound of the techno legend Mr. Mauro Picotto got his attention and awakened his interest of understanding and producing music. 2012 was the year of his first release called “Cubic” at Bugeyed, but in 2013 John had started to develop a consistent and more distinctive style, a sound that was more driving and also more progressive. This new approach resulted in “Karmma”, big room track that was selected as Demo of the week at Hardwell On Air Radio Show, and received massive support from Fedde Le Grand who released it at his label Flamingo Records. “Karmma” hit the Beatport Top #10 and began to have mayor play at many DJs radio shows such as Chuckie BBc Radio 1, Mat Zoo, Morgan Page and Dannic.“Karmma” was also one of the most played tracks at Tomorrowland 2013.
Fedde Le Grand continued believing in John’s talent and released another track called “Novva”, this one climbed to Top #20 on Beatport and received the support of Thomas Gold & Carnage. It was the time to show his DJ skills and his beginning was not at any small club. His debut was in front of 3000 people, closing after Dash Berlin and Erick Morillo in his native country Colombia.
The parties and nightlife did not distract John from producing quality music as he released “Rock & Roll” and “Pannda” at Cr2 Records. Hardwell and David Guetta featured these tracks at their radio shows and sets. Each of his tracks is definitely made for success these two ranking on Beatport Top #24. He continued to play at mayor clubs and shows; opening for super stars DJs such as David Guetta. His talent has certainly not gone unnoticed by some of the biggest and most accomplished artists in the scene.
Even the biggest DJ of our time, Tiësto, has supported John Dish’s talent! After following him on Twitter, John gave Tijs “Kalavela” a track produced with Thomas Newson. This one was a game changing; besides Tiesto, artists like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Avicii, Afrojack, Hardwell, Nervo and Pete Tong, just to name a few, made this track and essential part of their sets and radio shows.
2014 will be the Year of Dish. In January he released at Musical Freedom (Tiësto’s Label) “Kalavela”. This one hit the Top #8 at Beatport, John’s biggest achievement. He also began the year billed at one of the most important and well known South American Festival “Summerland” playing along side with Nicky Romero, Armin Van Buuren, Nervo, Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and many others; where he demonstrated to colossal audiences his skills and tight technique as a DJ. His ability to read the crowd shone through proving he can mix it with the world’s best.
John does not stop to amaze, and one month after his huge release “Kalavela”, a new bomb “Homme” is out on Flamingo Records, and after just 2 days is already Top #40. This ensures that he is also a big name to watch in 2014.
