Jo Devious has rapidly made a name for herself, not only as a quality House Music DJ, but also as a visionary Promoter.
Having only started spinning four years ago, Jo has already had extensive and varied experience in rocking dancefloors across the UK.
A shejay who firmly believes that her tunes are the passport to her DJ’ing success, Jo’s influences are vast. Having followed the London underground scene from the late 1980’s, Jo’s ever growing vinyl collection includes; acid and proper 80’s/90’s old skool; early hardcore and jungle; US garage; disco; funk; and house in all it’s glorious forms… deep funky techy tribally groovy stomping and soulful.
Add to this her professionalism, determination and positive vibes, and it soon becomes apparent why this lady is already becoming a formidable force within the dance music industry!
Jo’s personal DJ career highlights to date include, getting the legendary “Jumpin Jack Frost” to quite literally “jump up and dance” at the Whitehouse in Surrey, plus, her DJ skills being recognized by the Forum Sessions in Derby, with her winning a set at top Midlands house night, “Blend”!
Jo hopes to gain sponsorship this year, not only to further promote herself as a DJ, but also to further fulfill her plans for future shejay projects.
Having worked as shejay’s “Promotions and Events Manager (UK : Europe)” for the past year, Jo Devious has successfully raised the profile of shejay within the UK and beyond, and is currently working closely with shejay Co-Founder, KelliLicious on the Shejay European Tour 2005! Jo believes that her success in this field is not only due to her passion for music across all genres, but also because she has a genuine desire to promote and collaborate with other female artists from across the World.
Jo has huge ambitions for the future success of shejay and is currently working with some of the UK’s top Music Industry Consultants to finalize her business plans, which will further engage shejay within the industry as the World’s leading female artist network.
Jo Devious has also got the paperwork to back up her attributes as Jo is qualified, not only as a Sound Recording Engineer and Broadcaster, but also as a Journalist. These skills are now being put into practice with regular event and music reviews appearing on the shejay site, a weekly show on Unknown fm, plus the opportunity to incorporate her own jingles and productions into her DJ sets and radio shows. As Jo’s mastering and confidence of the beats increases, so too is her producing repertoire.
