Open Records is a forward-thinking electronic music imprint based out of the tropical paradise of Cairns, Australia.
The Open Records sound is just that: open to interpretation. Everyone on the team has a different view on what the Open sound is, or will be, and that is what makes us special. The one thing we all share in common is a love of deep, intelligent, dancefloor-oriented techno and house music, designed to rock the dusty festival or sweaty club alike.
Over the years through our CD and digital releases, we have featured the music of some of the world’s finest acts, including Erphun, Matador, Antix/Fiord, Kasey Taylor, Pow-Low, Brisker&Magitman, Criss Source, SQL, SunControlSpecies and more.
Kicking off 2010 in smashing style with a beatport chart hits in the shape of Opiou’s remix of Fiord’s Keen String and Jamie Stevens’ rework of GMJ’s First There Was Sound, Open has recently dropped our massive new double CD compilation Expansion Pack. Picked up by the world’s DJ elite including Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, Umek, Dubfire and lots more. Expect a raft of remix EPs from Expansion Pack soon, including tracks by King Unique, Gary Beck, Ryan Halifax, Erphun and more.
One thing is for sure with Open and that is that we put our music first, so no matter what way you get it, you can guarentee it will be only the freshest sounds in electronic music, paving the way for Open’s success on the international stage. Open & out!
