Currently Jason is running his own record label, Life Music. URB Magazine says, “Jason creates his own tribal body music, inspired by equal parts acid house, dub effects and ambient sensibilities.” L.A.’ underground FIX Magazine says, “Jason Blakemore’ Life record label is a sure sign of a bright future.” Life Music focuses on the very best of underground house music featuring the talents of Huntington Beach’ own Natural Rhythm from Earthtones recordings and Wally Callerio of Dufflebag records.
Blakemore is a resident for one of L.A.’ best promoters, B3 Cande productions, and has played at every one of their parties including “How Sweet It Is,” the “Pitch Black” tour, and a most memorable sunrise set at the first “Jujubeats.” He is also a resident for Aquarium events, playing prime time slots at their annual “Aquarium” party, as well as “Animania” and “Midnight Sun.” Jason also annually plays at Go Ventures’ huge New Year’ Eve party which continually sells out the 15,000 capacity L.A. Sports Arena.
Truly a west coast favorite, Jason has played at every “Nocturnal Wonderland” and was Insomniac’ original resident back in 1993. Up and down the coast Blakemore continues to play for the best promoters such as Seattle’ USC productions and San Francisco’ Silver Pearl (including a very memorable closing set at the Quest 2 year anniversary). Playing with the likes of DJ’ like Doc Martin, Jeno, Garth, Derrick Carter and Mark Farina, as well as Mark Grant, Steve Loria, DJ Dan, Josh Wink and so many others, Jason is sure to leave a lasting impression upon our scene.
