There is no dj and no clubber worldwide that still doesn’t know of Black Legend. J-Reverse (r.n. Ciro Sasso) using the Black Legend pseudonym, conceived, produced and released in 1999 the single “You See The Trouble With Me”, it was a self growing success that in June 2000, after getting licensed almost in every country of the world, reached the n°1 of the UK official singles sales chart, selling about 2 millions copies worldwide of the single alone and gaining a collection of gold and platinum discs, becoming one of the new mIllenium disco & house classics.

J-Reverse was already an internationally renowned and respected DJ and producer way before the Black Legend success. In over 20 years of high profile activity in the dance music biz, he has built a huge discography, releasing original productions and remixes under many pseudonyms (to name a few: Jackie Reverse, Cocobongo, Escape From Forio, The Messengers, Club Junkees and of course Black Legend). On the remixes side he worked on projects like Byron Stingily “You make Me feel” (BMG), Le Negresses Vertes (Virgin), Hanry “Choo Choo” Romero “What Happened” (Slip n Slide), Michael Gray “The Weekend” and Sunblock “I’ll Be Ready” and “First Time” (Universal) just to name a few. In more than one occasion his remix became the main version that entered the charts worldwide, like for “Shimmy Shake” by 740 Boyz (Warner) back in 1994 or for “Another Day In Paradise” (WEA) in 2001. No wonder then if his works are often featured on specialized top radio shows (like Pete Tong’s BBC Radio1 Essential Mix) and on the “most wanted” worldwide charts and top DJs playlists.

His DJ sets sound has been defined by the most as a blend of funky and electro house, but if you ask him the answer will be “I like to play that kind of music that makes 2000 people screaming an jumping all over the place!”, by the way he always faces the crowds with enough skills to bend his sound to rock the deepest as well as the hardest dancefloors he may encounter. No need to say he has performed all over the civilized world, from Rome to Ibiza to London to Ney York to Miami to Amsterdam to Paris to Jakarta…

2009 will see JR celebrating the 10th Black Legend anniversary. Celebrations started already with the release of the 10th Anniversary Remix Packege of Black Legend “You See The Trouble With Me” including mixes by ATFC, Alex Kenji, J-Reverse himself and many others, and will continue trough all 2009/2010 winter, apart the release of a new single, with a dj tour that will bring J-Reverse to perform worldwide and where possible with the support of live performance and MC of Black Legend’s vocalist Elroy “Spoonface” Powell.

When outside of the recording studio and clubs, J-Reverse is the owner and A&R of “Reverse Records” label that, since 2003, keeps spreading quality house music around the globe.
