This Peruvian born DJ and producer began spinning records in 1994 while living in the United States. After a year of honing his craft he moved back to Lima and participated in the birth of Lima’s dance scene in 1996 (Blue Buddha and ZoÃ«). Subsequent residencies at every underground club in PerÃº led to an invitation from “Fiesta” Frank Amoros, to be a resident for his fledging promotion company, Orbit PerÃº.
Over the last 6 years Israel has held down residencies at every major dance Club in PerÃº and is widely considered to be the top DJ in the country and one of the best in South America. He has shared the decks with international guests including: Sasha, John Digweed, Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold, Steve Lawler, Carl Cox, Lee Burridge, Timo Maas, Sander Kleinenberg, Jimmy Van M, Danny Howells, Hernan Cattaneo, John Creamer, James Zabiela, Anthony Pappa, Luke Fair, Nick Warren, Phil Thompson, Staircase, Slacker, Quivver; Lexicon Avenue; Medicine8, Parks & Wilson, etc.
Receiving props for his unique futuristic style, he has become the most sought-after DJ, demanded by International DJ’s to spin with them on their visits to Peru. As well, he has played in important international franchises such as: Cream, Ministry of Sound, ClubLand, etc. Israel has received praises from DJ’s of such relevance as: Lee Burridge, Phil Thompson, Hernan Cattaneo, Carl Cox and Rowan Blades. He has been “Featured Guest Dj” in Proton Radio, the past month of August. He has played together with Christian Berger at renowned clubs in Miami: Nerve, Luna and Jazid, where they where received with much enthusiasm and success. After their gigs there, they received a residency to play for P:M Sessions @ LUNA: Every three months they will be returning to spin in Miami.
His work in the Studio with partner Christian Berger has caught the attention of several international DJ’s and Labels with great reactions. His tracks have been played in several Proton Radio and Kiss fm shows (Rowan Blades, Luke Fair, Dave Preston, Panic, Pat Fooshen, etc.) He has signed 2 tracks with the US label, Warbled Music: “The Lonely Adventures of the Papaya Smoothie” & “Ganjaman”. Vich & Berger remixed the track “Control Freak” for Rowan Blades and Andy Page which has already come out for Rocksteady Records. As well, another remix for Swain, Snell Lucas, the track is called “Do you Mean what you Say”, for the same label. The last remixes he has done together with Christian Berger are for the rock band Libido of the tracks: Fragil and Vampiro.
On his own he has just signed two tracks with the label: “Music is Freedom”, belonging to Paolo Modjo: “Nintendub” – Israel Vich & Dave Preston and “Funky Kuato” – Israel Vich. Nowadays, he’s carrying out a project together with RamÃ³n PÃ©rez Prieto (Novalima) of Chill and Downtempo music, with musicians and live instruments. Israel is also spending time in Multimedia and Video Art projects together with Elena Damiani.
