Illness is a skilled ‘open format’ DJ & Presenter hailing from the suburbs of East London. He describes his hip hop rooted sound as “Urban with a twist” due to his ability to entertain wide audiences from the commercial ‘Glitz and Glam’ to the ‘hardcore underground’. Having been involved in the music business for over ten years Illness humbly has the credits to show, from pirate radio to mainstream television, Illness has the t-shirt. He’s rubbed shoulders with the crème de la crème of the urban scene both in the UK & Internationally, and Alwayz Recording broke their Superstar artist Chipmunk into the mainstream, Illness became his official tour DJ, leading to big stages across the globe.
As his schedule filled up Illness took a break from the radio scene in 2010 to focus on setting clubs alight. Illness noted amongst his highlights of 2010 “Hosting 2 National tours with Chipmunk alongside the big performances for T4 and definitely playing at Wembley for Capital FM”. 2011: “Huge year, Glastonbury & supporting US Superstars Ne-Yo and then Snoop Dogg on tour was great for the buzz of a huge audience. I also loved playing the club sets out in Beiruit and Ibiza.” In 2012 Illness spent lengthy time in studios in the States as Alwayz Recording joined forces with powerful Atlanta based Grand Hustle, spearheaded by the infamous star of US music, film and television, T.I. (Clifford Harris). He continued his exceptional work rate, juggling his London West End Residency, with a very busy summer period across UK and Europe and UAE.
