Ian.C has been a musician, playing drums and percussion since he was a teenager, performing in bands that gained record company interest, one, âThe Halcyon Daysâ had Chrysalis and Rough Trade interest as early as 1987. But it was not to be.
Since then Ian gained experience playing in a number of bands, supporting groups like âCud, The Boo Radleys and James Taylor Quartetâ, from pubs to clubs like The Bierkeller, Bath Pavilion to universities, and a tour of Northern Italy. Of course while this was going on, Ian was regularly visiting events like Sunrise, Spiral Tribe and Circus Warp, joining many a convoy to find a good party – How things have changed.
Moving from Bristol to the Midlands in 1995 Ian.C decided to put his musical experience into action in the now rocketing Club Scene.
Scott Bond offered Ian.C a residency at Bakers in Birmingham for Republica for the whole of 1996, which Ian acknowledges as the best introduction to the Midlands dance scene he could have hoped for.
Because of Republicaâs high profile Ian.C quickly established himself as the Midlands best percussionist, becoming resident percussionist for Decadence, Crunch and Time in Cheltenham.
During this time and up to the present day, Ian.C continues to play (as well as his residencies), at as many clubs as he can. He has performed at Az-Oz with Mark Vedo, The Escape in Cardiff, Club U.K London, U.K Midlands (for Clockwork Orange), The Canal, Tongue in cheek, Escape into the Mix with Danny Slade, Ménage a Trois in Southampton and the Que Club with Jem Atkins.
Ian.C has performed with most of the D.Jâs on todayâs circuit in most cases many times, here a just a few of them: Chris Anslow, Scott Bond, Mike E Bloc, Sister Bliss, Brandon Bloc, Craig Campbell, Andy Cleeton, Clara Da Costa aka Miss Bisto, Nigel Dawson, Fergie, Lenny Fontana, Seb Fontaine, A.J Gibson, Jeremy Healy, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Steve Lawler, Tall Paul, Alex.P, Danny Rampling, Dave Seaman, Danny Slade, D.J Sonique, Spoony and Tom Wainwright.
