Hess is one of the founders of Bamboo Music and is now manager, A&R of the label, and one of the labels main artists.
Hess first release on Bamboo “Be Yourself” was well received all over the world and play listed by the likes of Murray Richardson, Roger Sanchez, Jay Tripwire, Saeed & Palash and Trendroid, whilst also receiving reviews in UK’s ‘’7’ and ‘DJ’ magazine with 4/5 dancing men.
Since then Hess has had many more successful releases on Bamboo and a string of remixes for many other labels.
As a producer for the past nine years, Hess has collaborated with many artists including Adelaides Mobin Master (Tribal Funk), Kasey Taylor (Vapour recs) and Nick Dem Q. His love for Salsa rhythms is apparent in his music, and will always have some percussive elements present. You can count on hearing tribal and percussive elements in every set he plays, from summery latin vocal house, dark tribal tech house to West coast tribal dub house sounds.
Hess plays most of his gigs one on one with his label partner Nick Dem Q leaving huge reviews and many satisfied punters in their wake. If you get a chance to experience one of their Bamboo sets, you wont be disappointed.
Hess also records under the name 48 Hours with Bamboo label partner Nick Dem Q on Vicious Vinyl, the duos first release being played by the likes of Dave Seaman, Lee Burridge & Papa.
Also his most recent project Master & Hess with Mobin Master (Tribal Funk) is reaching huge success worldwide. Master & Hess is a latin house project that the pair have been working on for many years. The first single is Trouble Girl featuring vocals by Diane Charlemagne (Moby, ATFC).
Behind the decks was where it all started, with Hess now clocking up 15 years of Djing, playing to crowds all across the globe. Originally one of the first techno DJ’s in Melbourne for many years in the early nineties, Hess then made the switch to more regular club gigs in the mid nineties and has now established himself as one of the pioneers of Tribal House / Latin house music in Australia.
