Dj Hector Carrero has worked in the electronica scene in Colombia since 1990. He started as the resident Dj in one of Bogota?s main clubs Up and Down. He then moved on to working on a mix show in 88.9 La Superestacion (one of the leading stations at the time). In 1992 he joined BMG Colombia to work as a club promoter for dance music where he developed a magazine catered to Djs and clubs. Universal Music came afterwards where he worked as a club promoter and a Dance Product Manager. During this period of time several successful compilations were released; Universal Clubbing, Dance Mix, and the groundbreaking Rave Nation. Rave Nation was a compilation that for the first time united original productions from local djs. This title received amazing reviews from media and Djs. In 2002 he became the director of the radio show Estacion Ibiza that aired on the weekends. Estacion Ibiza became the show where local and international djs were invited to play live sets from 6pm until 6am every Friday and Saturday. The show was one of the top 5 weekend shows for 6 years in a row. Currently he is working as A&R for the label Bedroom Music searching for tracks from local djs. He is also currently working on a web page to support local djs and their productions.
As a Dj he has participated in festivals such as:
Festival de Verano – (98, 99, 2000, 04, 06) – This is a festival held by the city of Bogota. Attendance is estimated at 80,000 people.
Ultra mar/ Festival (2004, 05, 06) held in the city of Cartagena. 4 day festival, attendance estimated at 40,000. International Djs invited to this festival- Wally Lopez, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Antoine Clamaran among many others.
Summer Dance Festival (2007) held in Cartagena. 5 Day Festival.
In 17 years of career he has done parties in different cities in Colombia such as Cali, Medellin, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Bogota, Pereira and several other cities bringing house, tribal and electro throughout Colombia. In 2007 he was invited to play at Nikki Beach in the opening and closing parties for this years Winter Music Conference.
