Influenced by great figures of the global picture such as Frankie Knuckles, David Morales and Danny Tenaglia, in 1991 Guillermo Quero began his career in charge of the warm-up at the Club Reflex, that same place a year later promoted him as a DJ resident.
Closer to the House-sound, he musicalised several radio shows in his early days dedicated to the electronic music culture and, in 1993, he accomplished his second residency at Nexo, a club with room for six thousand people. Following the path opened by Hernan Cattaneo in the local scene, he decided to fully focus on the search for new experiences and settings to demonstrate his skills. So, in the mid nineties, he was considered as one of the leaders in south Buenos Aires dance scene and his name began to get linked with the most outstanding nights of the area.
With more than a decade of experience, Guillermo nowadays lives the most successful stage of his career. At 27, he’s the glowing winner of the international contest Thirst in Argentina that attracted hundreds of participants and had its final verdict by the English DJ Paul Oakenfold. He recently got a spot at at the terraces of Clubland ([email protected] Buenos Aires) and was a featuring artist in the 2003 edition of the Creamfields BA festival. Both with his musical baggage and experience aboard the decks he recently became a stable part of the staff of the Metrodance 95.1 FM radio station, where he has his Weekender section.
