Greg Downey began DJing over 6 years ago and in this time has established himself firmly among the best young DJs in the UK. Born in Belfast – Ireland, Greg developed a taste for tougher electronic dance music from a young age. He has reflected this in his unique style which combines underground and uplifting trance with elements of techno; The result.. An Explosive sound!

Greg’s first big break came when he was spotted DJing at an after club in Ibiza in 2000 by the Gatecrasher Ibiza promoter. He was immediately asked to play for them at the legendary Space club. From there things went from strength to strength. Greg won the prestigious DJ competition held by superclub Eden and went on to play for Euphoria and Tonic at Eden, Sundissential, Storm and the massive MTV Medonism Festival. The result was a featured article in Mixmag highlighting Greg as one of the hottest young DJs around.

Back in Ireland more success followed with Greg winning Ireland’s BBM Magazine DJ Competition. This led onto bookings at some of the biggest clubs there, including The Coach and The Network. Greg then received a full-page feature in The Sunday Life, Ireland’s biggest newspaper.

Having established a strong following in his home country, Greg made the short overseas trip to England, where he is now based, and started to make himself known on the DJ curcuit.

In 2005 Greg was signed exclusively to Discover Records, the most talked about trance label right now, which he now does extensive work for. His debut releases – and remixes have stamped his name as one of the most exciting new trance producers in the scene with support from many of the world’s leading DJ’s including Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Eddie Halliwell, Matt Hardwick and John Askew himself

2006 has been a big year for Greg! Along with being signed to PFAgency, Greg has also kicked off the year by performing at superclubs Goodgreef, Slinky, The Gallery, Passion and The Coach to name but a few. Greg has also been starting to make a name for himself outside of the UK by securing gigs in Canada, China, Germany and Poland with more on the cards.

Aswell as Greg most recently being selected to perform alongside side some massive names at Eddie Halliwells series of FIRE IT UP events, his skilled performances and unique trance sounds has brought interest from both clubbers and promoters up and down the country and 2007 will see the interest in Greg continue to grow! 2006 saw Greg make his debut on Radio 1 for Eddie Halliwell’s Residency Show

Greg has a heavy production schedule ahead for 2007? 2006 has seen his new track Vivid Intent being hammered on the DJ curcuit. Already featured as Armin van Buuren’s “Tune Of The Week” on his radio show, A State Of Trance, It recently made its way onto Eddie Halliwells Cream Ibiza compilation and has been featured on Radio 1 more than a few times! There will be a alternative remix coming from Giuseppe Ottavianni and Marc van Linden, who will be collaborating together. Greg also has a few things in the pipeline. Having recently teamed up with German star Marc van Linden, you can look forward to their exciting EP, coming soon on Midway Records Aswell at this, Greg has also been working on a driving dark EP with two solo tracks- The Instigator & Jaws. Both amazing tracks guaranteed to blow your mind! So keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of months!

Greg will be finishing off the year in style when he records his debut live compilation album. This will be the next “Live As” Album on Discover and will feature Greg performing live and direct from the Fire It Up party at Inside Out in Glasgow. This is not to missed as Greg unleashes his driving trance sound on the public!

At only 23 years of age, Greg’s many achievements alongside his outstanding technical ability and desire to succeed, will make 2007 a massive year for him….
