DJ Giovanni began his professional career in 2000, for professional Mobile Entertainment Companies as a disc jockey. With a specialty in remixing various genres of music, DJ Giovanni spun everything from disco music to popular dance remixes, Latin, Indian and top 40’s.
In 2001, DJ Giovanni took a position interning with WLIR 92.7 FM Long Island’s leading modern rock dance music station and at its sister station, WDRE Party 105.3, whose format includes TOP 40 remixes and Hip Hop. As a production crew member for all promotional events, DJ Giovanni set off the Mega Jam concert held at the Brookhaven Amphitheater in Long Island which featured live performances including; O Town, The GoGo’s, and Ja Rule.
In 2003, DJ Giovanni began spinning in New York City at the most illustrious nightclubs the New York club circuit had to offer including venues such as Spirit known as Twilo, Avalon known as The Limelight and Roxy. Giovanni also opened up for established DJs in house music that featured Serge Devant, Johnny Vicious, and Tony Draper. Giovanni brought in a new wave of fans and professional recognition within the dance community.
Then in 2004, DJ Giovanni became a board operator at WBLI 106.1 FM Long Island’s Top 40 format station and co-produced the Chris Cruz show that aired from 12 AM to 5 AM Monday-Thursday. Subsequently, DJ Giovanni also succeeded to contribute his extraordinary talents in the grand tour of South America’s Ecuador. DJ Giovanni intermittently spends time addressing the Guayaquil press, placating reporters with interviews, performing in the nightclub circuit in La Playa de Salinas, hosting raves in Montanita and hitting up the turntables at one of the most sophisticated night clubs in the second largest city in Ecuador.
As an undergrad, Giovanni underwent a life saving surgical procedure to treat a lifelong battle with symptoms of Cholesteatoma which plagues the middle ear and, if left untreated, the inner ear. Since the age of 6, he struggled with schooling, recovering from multiple surgeries and suffered a lack of interpersonal communication. However, through perseverance, Giovanni overcame his personal obstacles by channeling his continuous frustration and focused on dedicating all of his energy into his love and passion for music.
In 2007, DJ Giovanni’s career exploded when he became the resident DJ at New York City’s legendary nightclub, Webster Hall. For two years, Giovanni worked alongside Shane Savant, every Thursday for “Girls Night Out.” He acquired his professional production portfolio in working with another leading figure in music, DJ Chris “the Greek” Panaghi of Amathus Music Records.
More recently, DJ Giovanni began composing his creativity in several projects within production. DJ Giovanni became the Assistant Promotional Director, Captain, Board Operator and Live Event DJ at WNYZ Pulse 87.7 FM New York’s leading dance station. At Pulse 87, he dedicated long hours and represented the listeners and club scene throughout the Tri-State area. Giovanni established himself within the company, while he also became recognized as a well-known entertainer and achiever.
Today, DJ Giovanni remains as a Music Producer/Remixer, doing guest appearances all over NYC and Long Island. The Starkey Hearing Foundation Sponsored DJ Giovanni with State of the Art Digital Hearing Aids so he may hear and continue fallowing his Dreams.
Giovanni is overwhelmingly thankful for all the continuous support of family and friends, his faith in God and optimism wherever the road may lead him.
