Trance music has grown in the last years, but the best known DJs and acts come from Holland, England and Germany. Trance has been growing in the United States, but there only a handful of well known DJs coming from the United States. Acts like Gabriel & Dresden, Markus Schultz, Filo & Peri Edgar V and George Acosta are some of the most famous acts promoting their sound to the world. However the United States is a vast country and there are enough unknown artists, who are trying to break into the trance scene. Gerry Cueto from Miami, Florida is one of these acts, who is quietly getting known in Europe. In the last months, his name has been found in playlists of various DJs around the globe like Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Aly and Fila, Suzy Solar, John O’Callaghan, and George Acosta, just to name a few.
Gerry Cueto began DJing 4 years ago and in this time has established himself firmly on the dance scene in Florida. At the same time, he had began to get into producing and obtained an Oustanding Music and Sound Student Award at his high schools music technology and sound engineering program. His remake of Solange – Messages was signed to Vandit Records by label boss Paul van Dyk. Paul was so impressed with the track that he decided to release it on his Politics of Dancing 2 compilation. The track was later released on Eddie Halliwell’s Cream Ibiza 2006.
In 2006, he met the legendary Dj/producer George Acosta. Acosta noticed the massive success Gerry was having with Paul van Dyk and decided to take Gerry on his production team. Gerry is the first American trance producer to be on his production team. Currently they are working on projects for Truth and Rob Hazen.
