Gary Maguire is a well established name on the Irish dance music scene. Djing from the age of 14, his career has seen him running Oxygen FM, an influential output of high quality dance music favoured by fans the world over – along with his label Oxygen Records where we saw the genesis of what was to follow.
Having made his name as a DJ/Producer on the hardcore scene Gary’s sound soon morphed into a tough trance and techno style that immediately got the attention of John Askew & John O’Callaghan at Discover who immediately signed him up to the label group.
The demand for Gary as a DJ has also seen a substantial increase of the last few years with bookings at all the biggest events Across Ireland including the legendary Planet Love festival and Ireland’s newest dance festival Escapefest. Gary also hosts his own highly popular ‘Creamed’ Nights in the midlands. His popular AH.FM show State Of Mind is proving to be a huge hit with listeners around the world for its blend of smooth trance with harder edge. 2010 has seen Gary playing all the major club nights in Ireland both north and south with gigs in the U.K. such as Transfusion in Newcastle and Europe, Transition Berlin where his crowd pleasing sets have been going down a storm.
2009 was the year that the trance scene sat up and took notice of Gary Maguire with his productions such as Borderline, One Way, True Colours and As You Are gaining support from all the A list DJS including AVB, John OCallaghan, Matt Hardwick. Aswell as storming the charts with his own productions the demand for Gary and his alias Last Man Standing has seen him remix some of the most respected names in the business including John Askew, Activa , Matt Hardwick. Gary has also recently collaborated with fellow Irish producer Neal Scarborough on As You Are on Fraction Reccords.
February 2010 saw the release of Dark Sessions II Gary’s first mix album for Discover which saw him let loose on Discovers back catalogue to devastating effect, mixing up his unique take on some of the labels best known tracks as well as a host of his own productions. It was declared as Mixmags Album Of The Month for March 2010.
With a number of new projects due for release in 2010 and a series of high profile gigs to come later in the year Gary is fast becoming one of the most in demand names on the Trance scene today.
