Her smooth mixing, varied track selection, and ability to create a journey through sound have proven Gaia’s solidity and talent as a DJ. Anyone who’s experienced one of Gaia’s live sets can vow for enjoying the ride on rhythms, blended with precision. Gaia and Jungle Recon have created a nationwide following that can be accredited to their dedication and passion.

With more than five years of involvement in the dance music and club scene, and her first love being hip-hop, it only made sense that her first record purchase consisted of the broken beats of Jungle and Drum and Bass. After only three months of practice, a friend and fellow DnB Dj in her city of Wichita, Kansas invited her to spin at Atlantis, an after hours club, on a semi-regular basis in early 2003. With little experience, she just let the music flow and it all came naturally. Within a short time she was consistently wreckin’ dance floors at raves and clubs both locally and out of state, making appearances in St Louis, Kansas City, Dallas and everywhere else along the way. She has played regularly with MCs Carbon and Scenario, and welcomes the opportunity to work with other talented MCs.

Gaia’s style can vary from hard, and moody darkstep drum and bass, to the smooth and minimal, or energetic dance floor sounds of tech-step, as well as old school, ambient, atmospheric jungle. Gaia continues to bring the darkness with her tear-out nu-skool and abstract breaks flavor and also has an abstract trip-hop and downtempo collection. Gaia can be seen at a wide variety of events, from regional Burning Man gatherings to small coffee shops, camp-outs, charity events, weeklies, and everything in-between. She’s been billed as both headliner and support, and has had the enjoyment of playing along-side prominent DJ’s such as Soul Slinger, DB, Gein, Dj Craze, and Tester to name a few.

Gaia represents 1/4 of the crew Jungle Recon, along with Craveone, Zen2, and Big $paid. Be sure to check out the crew’s website – Jungle Recon- for bios, pics, mixes, original tracks and more.
