Biography

DJ Fusion is native of Central Florida. Born in Orlando, he is a disciple of the Aahz era and was influenced greatly by local godfather’s Kimball Collins, Icey and Dave Cannalte. Musically influenced by artist such as the Beastie Boys, Bob Marley, Jane’s Addiction, Kyper, Sublime, New Order, Depeche Mode, Front 242, Dynamix II, 2 Live Crew, Ministry, AC/DC, the Gucci Crew and Steel Pulse you can hear these sounds in his beats. Fusion is a classical dj known for his acute skills on the decks and a natural gift of hearing and blending mixes in the appropriate keys and bars. Something that is overlooked by many in the industry. This delineates Fusion as a DJ who can make a whole room fall in love at once. Fusion is not just about choosing a few tunes to play. He generates shared moods and he understands the feelings of the crowd to take them to a better place with their mind, body and soul as a vessel. Originally, he was dubbed the “Bobman” when he helped opened the Edge in the early 90’s promoting upfront concerts with bands like the Beastie Boys, Live and Pearl Jam. Bobman performed in Icey’s huge rave parties with the crews like Suburban Base UK, Moving Shadows, E-lustrious, Two Bad Mice, Taste Experience and Afrika Bambatta. He then moved to Europe to Malta in the Mediterranean where he was sponsored by the local record store Mega-Tech. Working for Mega-Tech, Fusion dj’d around the clock djing clubs, on the radio and also as direct support for the infamous Ryhythm Masters from England – Rob & Steve at raves and boat parties around the Mediterranean Sea. After almost a year abroad he moved back to Central Florida where he has held residencies at The Croc Club in Winter Park, @ Icon w/ Dave Cannalte, Firestone on Thursdays w/ Kyngnova, AKA Lounge, Rhythym & Flow w/ DJ Keoki, Volcano w/ Jimmy Joslin & DJ 8-on, Alpha Bar, Skinny’s and more recently Suite B, Firestone & NV Art Bar in Downtown Orlando. He started going by the name DJ Fusion dubbed by his Rollins classmates and has put a fully licensed cd out as DJ Fusion titled ‘Atomic Energy’ with an all-star Florida track-list. He has released records and tracks under the K.N.F. name w/ Kyngnova on PK Records and Orange Groove Recordings. In his dj career, he has performed with many great artist like Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, AK1200, Keoki, George Acosta, Sander Klinenberg, Fred Durst, Monk, Icey, Ctrl Z, Kimball Collins, Baby Anne, CC Rock, Ms. Vicious, MLe, John Debo, Feelgood, The Rhythm Masters and Afrika Bambatta to mention a few. He has twice had his own radio show, once in Europe on Bay Radio 102.6 fm on the Island of Malta in the Mediterranean in the studio and live from Club Styx and the second one on ‘The Real Groove’ on Real Radio 104.1 fm in Orlando as a resident at ICON two years strong with Orlando’s own Dave Cannalte and on air-personality & host Drew Garabo now of 102.5 the Bone in Tampa. Fusion is known for powerful, high octane sets dropping some proper house beats or some funky breakbeats, nu-disco, tech-house, funky house and beyond… He’s currently diggin’ such artist like UMEK, Maceo Plex, Groovebox, Tube & Berger & Claude Von Stroke to name a few. Some of his favorite past dj performances include mixing live on the radio on friday nights on the Real Groove at Icon with Dave Cannalte & host Drew Garabo, spinning a party for Fat Harry, Fred Durst & the Limp Bizkit boyz with Monk and the Rachel’s girls, playing on the 2006 US tour with CC Rock and CtrlZ from the UK, throwing down encore sets for DJ Icey at Icon in Orlando closing the night twice and playing alongside Kimball Collins on a few occasions on the Real Groove @ Icon. DJ Fusion is in the studio working with local artist with aim to have new original releases in 2014 while droppin’ beats around the block… Be sure to download his fresh monthly promo mixes on www.soundcloud.com/digital-orange-grove
