Faktor-X (Deak Laslo) is located in the heart of Serbia, Vojvodina. This central location is what gives him easy access to all the surrounding clubs and party scenes. From his early childhood, he has been influenced with 70’s disco and 80’s pop and was making seamless loops and edits with his double tape deck. He grew into dance music, there wasn’t any alternative for him (although for a short time he wanted to be a drummer and took guitar lessons).
Along with a friend, he started a weekly residency in one of the local clubs with great success and that was almost 10 years ago. He even had a radio show on his local station which ran for several years and was a great success in the region and had a big following.
After that he mainly focused on one-off dj gigs and started getting interested in music production. One of his early tunes is a remix for Washington’s “Arthur Loves Plastic” electronica act. A few years later a second remix followed and was included on a remix compilation and a megamix. In 2003 one of his tracks was chosen in a competition and appeared on the cover CD of the leading Hungarian dance music magazine called “Freeemagazin”. His first appearance on vinyl was in February 2006 on Steve Bug’s Audiomatique imprint. The same track appeared on the Audiomatique mix cd alongisde artists such as Trentemøller, Adultnapper, Rob Acid, Robag Wruhme / Wighnomy Bros., Jussi-Pekka, Martinez, Alexi Delano & Fernando Gullon, John Dahlbäck and others.
