Eric Aguayo a.k.a. Ericmaster is an electronic music DJ/Producer, born in Quito, Ecuador on February 5th, 1984. Ericmaster has been evolving through the years and always trying new stuff on their mixes and productions. His style has been influenced by many artists from Ecuador and the rest of the world. He started his career mixing with a computer for small parties since 2004 when he was 20, then he decided to go further. He has been performing as a professional DJ since 2007. Most of the music genres he used to play were progressive, house, trance, psytrance and some hard styles with a bit of tribal sounds. Now he is growing towards tech-trance with some progressive, electro, techno and minimal techno combinations in his sets. He has brought his music to many cities like Quito, Guayaquil, L.A. and Bergen. He not only introduces many innovative and new ideas in his performances but also likes to interact with the audience and please them with innovative music. One of the key elements in Ericmaster’s success is that he loves the electronic music in its wide range of genres, from techno to psytrance, which allowed him to amaze the audience with the unexpected and succesfully cross over different electronic music genres. He has shared the dj booth with well-kown djs such as Thomas Bronzwaer.
He finished his studies in computer science and mathematics at the “Universidad San Francisco de Quito” on 2008 and since then, he has been developing VST plug-ins and special functionalities to current dj and vj software in order to improve his productions and live performances. In the same year, he worked in collaboration with Dj Peter Romo at Romo DJ Academy where he developed some taste for electro-house style. In 2009 he took a couple of lessons in desktop Music Production in Berklee School of Music where he started producing some tracks. Now he works with Evolution Bass group and recording label where he met Andres Munoz a.k.a. AM, who is one of the major exponents in the progressive style in Ecuador, Carlos Cruz and Guido Pineda, both known as the NNSounds, a specialized duo in tech and tech-house styles. Ericmaster decided to join Evolution Bass due to its common ideals on promoting the wide range of electronic music genres. On behalf of Evolution Bass, Ericmaster has participated in several events and radio shows. He has also learned advanced production skills at the Earcatcher DJ Academy with Marc Soul, who is one of the major exponents in the house and tech-house styles in Ecuador.
In the long term, Ericmaster is planning on develop a new style of electronic music, combining trance and other kind of electronic music with the acoustic sounds of Ecuadorian native folkloric instruments, which he believes its gonna become a catchy rhythm in the upcoming years.
Dj Ericmaster has been inspired at a very young age in classic early dance and electronic groups like 2-Unlimited, Real McCoy, Dr Alban, Nordbeat, among others. He has also been influenced by many contemporary djs and producers well known in Ecuador and around the world like Armin Van Buuren, Stoneface & Terminal, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Lexter, Benny Benassi, Darude, Anna Kiss, Gareth Emery, Above & Beyond, Gabriel Montufar a.k.a. Monti, Richie Hawtin, Max Farenthide, Cargo, Angy Kore, David Guetta, Oscar Troya, David Chrissor, Steban Liebg, Deadmau5, Marc Soul and many many others.
