Chain Reaction Productions is a company he started in late 1999 for the release of his EDM CD titled Fusion Stage 009, which was the first of 3 CDs to be released under this label. CRP has now branched off into Sound and Lighting, where the companies system has been used for shows in 6 states around the Mid West. In Denver, it has been showcased in several local clubs, theatrical shows, and raves, for productions companies including the Triad Dragons, Ryan Dykstra Nightlife, and Pureform Atmospheres.
Featured talent that has used his services include: Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Darude, Richard “Humpty” Vision, Crystal Method, Micro, Bad Boy Bill, Rectangle, Craze, Jon Bishop, Hybrid, Jon the Dentist, George Acosta, Irene, Electric Skychurch, LSDJ’s, just to name a few.
Locally, he has held residencies at Club Synergy, Bash, Cosmos, the Globe, Nicks in Vail, Club Purple, the Star-line Lounge, Rise, Amsterdam, and Enigma After-hours to name a few. With a broad, and somewhat unpredictable music style, his career has seen him sharing the decks with the likes of Super-Star DJ Keoki, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Darude, Tall Paul, Wu Tang Clan, Micro, DJ Dan, Woody McBride, Dara, Mars & Mystre, Bad Boy Bill, Freddy Fresh, Robert Oleysyck, DJ Hardware, and the list goes on.
While still looking to broaden his experience, DJ Donovan has performed in several states in the mid west including, WY, IA, CO, WI, KA, IL, and MN, where he held residencies at the states hottest clubs, including First Avenue, The Quest, and The Palace. Here, it was not uncommon to see him doing 2×4 scratch / hard house sets with Luscious Cube, or blowing away the crowds by throwing down on 4 decks at once.
First meeting Yossi Goodman in 1999 while spinning a 13 hour set at a party, their paths crossed again in 2002. And with a unique understanding of electronics, music theory, and scratching, Yossi brought him on board the You Know Me DJ Academy as one of several outstanding Instructors for the Colorado dance music scene, where the objective is to collectively share the experience and knowledge of very commendable list of local, national, and international talent.
Stemming from an accumulation of his vast range of experiences, his newest project is the truest sense of accomplishment. Donovan now owns Club Syn in Denver. There he has installed a 35,000 watt sound system in a very cozy environment, brought in Denver’s finest interior designer, and a commendable list of local, national, and international talent.
Even though being Owner/Director of operations, Donovan has chosen to step aside from the decks at his club, and focuses more on bringing in other feature talent that he feels needs to be heard. However, he is never too far from the decks.
While still scientifically molding music styles such as Progressive, Deep House, Breaks, scratching, and an impressive selection of acapellas, DJ Donovan currently owns and operates Club Syn, while still finding time to have a never ending list of appearances at just about every club in Denver, and ties to some of the hottest clubs in the UK.
