Starting off as an event promoter in the Canadian underground scene in 1998, Dave was a visionary of entertainment and a believer in the emotion of house music. Growing up to an early influence of jazz and symphonic music and experiencing the peak of the underground scenes of Montreal and Toronto in 1999, Dave crafted his own sound.
“I try to focus on creativity in music and programming in my sets, never forgetting the art of stimulation and the variety of each listener, room, day and time”.
In 2004 Dave was noticed by talent agent Carey Britt of internationally acclaimed house club BOA in Toronto (sister club to Stereo-Montreal). Resident roster including artist such as: Chus & Ceballos, David Morales, Oscar G, Demi, Sean Miller & Saeed Younan. Dave was offered a guest spot at the monthly Stereo VS Boa Saturday night in the main room. The night was a landmark and such a success they asked him back monthly, making him the youngest resident DJ of the desired room.
In 1998 a decision was made to expand past the Canadian border and connect with the city that inspired him most – New York.
“Experiencing life in New York was very moving for me. While the urban dynamics may have changed, the streets resonate with life and musical history, and the energy is indescribable”.
Still an avid collector of 80’s disco and soul vinyl LP’s, Dave would spend many afternoons at East Side records, listening through the past sounds of New York. And while excited by the evolution of current electronic music, listening to the earlier sound helps to inspire him today.
Now based out of Miami, the city of sun, fun and house music, he’s held various residencies and guest spots in both Miami and New York City including:
• Sundance Sundays @ Set – Miami
• Pink Elephant – NYC
• Cain – NYC
• Juliet – NYC
• Greenhouse – NYC
• Via Dei Mille Sunday Bruch – NYC
• Segafredo (Lincoln Rd/Brickell) – Miami
• Spazio Nero –Miami
Starting his producing career just 1 year ago, his first single “The Mask” was released on Alex Guadino’s Magnificent Records and played by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 July 2011. Also hitting #15 on the DMC UK BUZZ Chart. His next release is being vocaled and produced with Jaquita Perkins of NYC, who toured and performed live with Roger Sanchez on his European tour .
His experience sets him aside and is capable of delivering explosive big room performances, or sophisticated deep house sets. Expect a strong uprising from Dave Sol in the years to come.
