Dave Jones Beatport


DJ Dave Jones originates from Co. Londonderry Northern Ireland. From a very young age Dave developed a passion for dance music and the move to DJ was inevitable. Dave started DJ’ing in 1999 the year referred to by many as the year of trance. However trance was not how Dave started out his Dj’ing career, Soulful funky house was to be Dave’s preferred genre of music in 1999.

After one year of developing his skill Dave felt the time was right to make an impact on the club scene. In March 2000 Dave sent an innovating Soulful house demo to a monthly DJ Mixing competition held in Muzik Magazine, the competition named “Bedroom Bedlam” gained competitors from across the UK and Ireland. Dave was to be the winner of this prestigious competition and adds his name to a mass of highly talented DJ’s who have previously won this competition, these include Radio 1’s Yousef and James Zabelia.

In June 2000 still over whelmed by his competition victory in Muzik Mag Dave traveled to Ibiza in hope of furthering his DJ experience. Dave secured a himself a warm up slot at Plastik Fantastic after a recommendation by Nottingham club promoter Simon Braithwaite, Dave comments that he gained more experience in 80minutes playing live that in 1 year of home mixing and practice.

2001 saw Dave start a string of successful club nights in Nottingham, held above Jacks wine bar the night attracted a small and intimate crowd of 150 clubbers monthly. The night saw Dave warm up for superstar DJ Jim “Shaft” Ryan of “Miss Moneypennys” fame.

Between 2002 and present day Dave has done several radio guest mixes. These include Eupho with Pete Snodden on Cool FM Belfast and Solid State on Galaxy 102.2FM in Birmingham.

July 2004 saw Dave make a massive transition from Funky/Soulful house to Trance. Dave comments “I felt the change was the only way in furthering my career. I’ve always played and loved trance music so its not that big a transition” with a passionate flare for dance music the forth coming months look set to make Dave Jones a house hold name across Northern Ireland and beyond.
