Biography

Born in April in Buenos Aires, Damian Di Pascuale ( aka Damián DP ) grew up inspired by pop & electronic bands from the 80s like Depeche Mode, New Order, Cetu Javu, Erasure, Camouflage, amongst other…

At the early age of 11 he began dj-ing as a game at one of his father’s clubs. After several years of practice and dedication, he began playing at different parties and obtained some residencies at a number of local clubs. At 17 he began his career as a producer, after just one year of training, at 18 he managed to release his first track called “01105” on the CP Recordings (UK) label, becoming one of the first Argentine artists in mingling with artists such as Paul Van Dyk, Thomas Penton, Pole Folder, Andy Moor, Quivver and more…

In 2004 he was signed by the Irish label Ghost Recordings which put out his track “Elation” that included a remix by the Canadian duo Shiloh on the B side, which gained the support of artists like Hernán Cattaneo, Dave Seaman and many more… the track was also selected by the Jaguar automobile enterprise for a special compilation for its customers.

Damian has also released material on Baroque Records (UK), No Smoking Records (Turkey) and Blueprint Records (USA). His tracks boast remixes by Andy Moor, Jose Zamora, Blake Jarrell, to name a few.

Some of his tracks enjoy the support of top djs like Paul Van Dyk (who has included Transatlantic” in his mixed CD “The Politics of Dancing II”), Tiesto, Hernan Cattaneo, Armin Van Buren, Andy Moor, Paul Oakenfold, Markus Schulz among many others.

He has shared the booth and line-up with international artists like Paul Van Dyk (in front of more than 15,000 people), Andy Moor, Solarstone, Pete Tong (at the Obras Sanitarias stadium, in front of 4,000+ people) Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West), Chris Scott (Lexicon Avenue) and Derek Howell (Bedrock).

His live sets stand out because of combining elements that stem from house, progressive house and trance, as well as including a host of his own remixes, edits and exclusive mash-ups, FX-units, laptops and controllers.

He has performed at the best clubs and events in Buenos Aires such as: Pacha (Ministry Of Sound), Crobar Buenos Aires, Big One, Bahrein, Obras Sanitarias stadium (Pepsi Music), GEBA Club with Paul Van Dyk, Sunset, Amerika, Palacio Alsina, Caix, Opera Bay, Middawn, Bloody Sound, Pinar de Rocha, Paraná Electronic Festival, Ultra @ Mei (Rosario), Soho (Rosario), GAP (Mar del plata) Avalon (Mar del plata) as well as in various Southamerican countries.

Currently Damian continues hosting his own radio show “Buenos Aires” on www.di.fm which is broadcast the last Friday of every month on the abovementioned web-site and which has been going for over 5 years. After honing his production skills for a while, this past summer he released his new work “Transatlantic 2010,” a remake of the classic Transatlantic with a fresher and current sound on Method Records (Baroque). He also is planning to set up his own record label as an outlet for his remarkable productions and for the new talents from Argentina and the rest of the world. All this makes him one of the most respected djs & producers from the Argentine scene.
