At the age of 15 in 1998 Camiel Daamen met with “Turntables”. Since then his whole life is about music. At first he was interested in Hip-Hop music, especially the scratching and beat-mixing kept him busy. After a year he discovered house music and he was buying his first studio gear to start making music as well. Dj-ing stayed the main thing for quite some time though.
He first started dj-ing at various places in Holland, he played mainly Uk hardhouse, after a gig in a club called “The Waakzaamheid” with Lucien Foort and Per playing also he was changing to the more deeper and groovy styles of house music. This supported by the fact that everything he made himself was also more focused on the deeper sounds. He was inspired by artists like Steve Lawler, Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish and many others.
Now the DJ sets he plays are various styles in one, from groove to progressive, tech-house, tribal- or twisted house its all in the mix. In 2001 he got his first gig abroad, Poland was the place to be, he already went back 5 times now. In 2002 He played together with an orchestra and in 2004 he got his first residency at the Funky Friday party’s. Da-Milio is also a member of a new Dj Team: THA FUNKSTARS.
On the production side Da-Milio is working hard as well. His first release will be the track Rockyabody on Method Records, coming December 2005. Giving him lots of inspiration to make much more music in the future.
