The term ‘chromatic’ by musical definition may have a variety of meanings depending on context. When referencing a sequence of music that is not limited by the standards of genre, tempo, and pitch; it could accurately describe the unmistakable work of fast-rising Dj/producer, Rachel O’Hearn, professionally known as ‘Chromatiq’.
With releases on Ultragore Recordings, Mindstorm Records, and Invisibles, Chromatiq has garnered praise and attention from some of the top names in the game. In September 2012, she was listed in Revolver Magazines ‘Ten Hottest Chicks In Dubstep.’ Alongside Reid Speed and Shortee. Chromatiq’s mixes and tracks have been featured on Moombaplus.com, Moombahton.net, TheFreakBeat.com and Represent Radio (bassdrive.com)
Starting out as a weekly resident DJ at Nashville’s top nightclub, MAI, in 2008, Chromatiq quickly established a strong following based on her impeccable mixing skills, taste, and ability to move a crowd. Chromatiq’s sets are rich with dark tones and ominous vibes, consisting mostly of Trap, Dubstep, Moombahton, House and DNB. Current residencies include Represent Drum & Bass, along with Atlanta’s own Freak Step crew.
