A veteran DJ for 14 years, many remember Chris Gallagher from back in the day at the legendary SIMONS in Florida when he was the clubs first resident DJ, starting way back in 1990. He spun 8-hour sets every Friday night for three years, helping to put SIMONS on the map and bringing the club to the forefront of the Florida music scene. Back then Chris ran the gamut of new sounds, taking people on serious journeys throughout his extended sets. But whatever style he presented, it was always funky enough to keep the floor packed and helped to give SIMONS the reputation it has today as one of the best underground clubs in this country ever.
In addition to maintaining a quarterly residency at SIMONS for over ten years, Chris was consistently a major figure in the Southeastern rave circuit, with performances too numerous to list here. However, he has had the pleasure of opening for such notables as: Paul Van Dyk, DJ Dan, Frankie Bones, John Debo, Doc Martin, Kimball Collins, Simply Jeff, DJ Icey, DJ Feelgood, Terry Mullan, Aphrodite(yes, Chris played a jungle set!), AK1200, Keoki, and Lady Miss Kier to name a few, as well as opening for Sasha at his first gig ever in the United States(at SIMONS in 92). Due to countless gigs over the years, Chris has been mentioned in magazines such as URB, Mixer, Streetsounds, Details, and other various publications.
Chris record debut was in 1999 with the release of Can U Feel It on Xquizit Records. The track went on to sell over 3000 units and was licensed for use on five DJs mixed CDs: DJ Voodoo, Huda Hudia, Rick West, Debbie D, and DJ X. In 2001 he released Rippin up Wax on Juice Recordings. In addition to destroying dancefloors nationwide, the track was licensed for Baby Annes Dark Side of the Boom CD as well as Eric Barettas CD. 2002 saw the release of Chriss first official mixed CD, entitled The Breakbeat Bunch Volume 2, featuring Chriss original productions and other hotties from the Juice crew.
A native of Philadelphia, Chris is back in the City of Brotherly Love and looking to stir things up with his eclectically funky blend of house music. Known for incorporating different styles into sets of intense energy, Chris is a DJ with a variety of sounds. This has become a lost art these days, sad to say. But on any given night, expect to hear pumpin funky progressive techno, tribal, bangin disco and hard house, or possibly even big room trance and breaks. Whatever the crowd is up for, this guy can deliver.
