Ceri is a young lady with Welsh blood running through her veins, she is currently based in London where she has achieved a rapid rise up the ranks due to her prowess both on the decks and in the studio. As a very underage teenager, she found the lure of London’s nightlife irresistible and spent many a night attending some of the very best underground events the capital has to offer. But simply whiling away the twilight hours enjoying her favourite DJs was not enough, an obsessive love affair with the music started, and so began her journey into the other side of the magical world that is house and techno…
Fuelled by sheer determination and an unrelenting passion for the music, she soon found herself playing at one of London’s best known after-hours parties – Jaded. There she was spotted by the promoters of East London Warehouse Party Rhythmatic, her dexterity and killer selections coupled with an infectiously positive outlook struck a chord with them and they signed her up as their resident. For them, Ceri played alongside, and warmed up for, some of the most respected names in the business, holding her own during back-to-back sessions with the likes of San Proper and DJ Three, as well as stamping her own mark on the night with consistently outstanding sets.
Parallel to her DJing, Ceri’s dedication to her work in the studio has seen her go from strength to strength. Putting her all into learning how to produce, she has built a strong identity in her music; there’s a deliciously dark, seductive element to her sound which, coupled with crisp percussion and funk-infused basslines, is a sound that has found favour not only with a ever-growing fanbase of partygoers, but with some of the electronic music world’s most influential figureheads including plaudits from techno don Richie Hawtin. In the last year alone she’s had releases with Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations, seminal London party label Wiggle, plus Dilate, Suruba, 3am Recordings, Midnight Social and Click Therapy – with further releases scheduled for labels such as one of London’s Premier underground labels ‘Save You’ amongst others.
Ceri’s popularity continues to grow at a rate of knots and, as a result, she has picked up gigs at a host of the world’s most respected nights and venues. Clubs where reputations are solidified, DJs really make their names and only the strong survive such as; Wetyourself at fabric, Back To Basics at the Garage in Leeds, Jaded at Cable, Junk Loves… at Junk in Southampton, Jamie Jones & Friends at Burning Man, The Treehouse in Miami and many more, is her list of recent conquests.
Elsewhere, as part of her mission to use music as a positive force, Ceri also runs a non-profit club night called ‘Rave to Save’. The first three events have involved DJs like; Matt Tolfrey, Subb-an, D.E.S, Daniel and Rossko, X-Press2 and Blackhall & Bookless. All of whom have helped her to raise nearly £10,000 for various good causes, with more events planned for the future.
With a host of releases pending and numerous DJ bookings pencilled in for the coming months, 2014 is already shaping up to be a busy year for this young lady and with such positive energy and passion for the music, her continued success is inevitable. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
