Biography

Vladimir Felix aka DJ Blass was born in December 1, 1978 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico and grew up in the vicinity of Guayama, Puerto Rico. He graduated from Rafael Lopez Landron High School and focused his college career in Computer programming. During his young years he was amazed and attracted by the art of music, he started pursuing a career in the field and his dream came true: he has become one of the most prestigious music producers in his genre. At his age of 32 he has worked and created some of the most successful titles, giving the urban and Latin genre a new flavor accepted and acclaimed by the masses, reaching incredible sales numbers throughout the world. Most of his musical inspiration comes from folk and African Music and also from the Electro and Rap era which he was introduced in his early years by his cousin in the Bronx, NY.

Dj Blass has introduced a new way of doing Latin Music, mixing traditional sounds with new rhythms. This has given him the title of Sandungero (party music). Do Blass has worked on more than 900 different titles and worked with a variety of artists, among those:

Calle 13 (multiple Grammy winner and Platinum recording artist), Wisin y Yandel (multi platinum recording artists), Ricky Martin (Grammy Winner and multiplatinum recording artist), Daddy Yankee( Grammy Winner and multiplatinum recording artist), Ivy Queen, Vico C, Jowell y Randy, De la Getto, Plan B among others. He has produced his own line of various artists records by the name of DJ Blass Sandunguero Vol. 1 and 2 both of them reaching gold sales and was one of the main producers in titles as La Conspiracion (Platinum album), La Mision 2 (Gold Album) among others.

DJ Blass is now focused on his international career and has recently visited and performed in countries as Oslo- Noruega, Paris – France, Sweden, Mexico, Colombia, Honduras and Chile, were he has amazed his fans as they watch the creator of the hits they love spin them live.

In 2008 artist and producers began calling DJ Blass “El Artesano” (Craftsman) because he went from producer to become also a song writer and creator of new lyrics and styles that have enhanced the artists’ careers he has worked for.

In 2011 DJ Blass has been nominated for a Latin Grammy with the song “Te Robastes Mi Corazon” performed by Fidel Nadal.

DJ Blass has won three BMI awards for the songs “No Te Veo”, “Cuando Cuando Es” and “Loco”.
