“It’s a booty shakin sort of a thing. This guy, Mr. Benjamin K, is a
graduate of Fort Lewis College with a major in Art Education. He
teaches by day, folds burritos in the afternoon, and rocks the jamz at
night. Benjamin K has been living in Durango for the past 8 years,
originating from Pueblo, CO. What started off as a house party and
bedroom dj project has now escalated to one of the best known djs
around. He has played everywhere with a sound system and always brings
the party. He’s shared the stage with the likes of J.Phlip, Brenmar,
Christian Martin, Eliot Lipp, Ardalan, Ana Sia, Michael Menert, Fort
Knox 5, Dj Abilities, and every local in between. With a wide library
and vast knowledge of music varying from jackin house to old school
breaks to bass driven electronica to O-face hip-hop he plays what

But it aint just about dj’ing. BK’s been well known for his abilities to throw parties like no one’s business. It’s been an infatuation since a child, to provide all aspects, all sides, all factors needed to form nights that no one soon forgets. Including party planning, booking, graphic design, and promotion. With annual nights beginning with BK Value Meal at The Summit and College Night at The Starlight that then soon escalated to larger theme nights. With plenty of solo promoted parties within his distant history. He later helped create and form local party powerhouse crew Mountain Mayhem, it’s aim to build, bring, and host a major sound camp at Burning Man and beyond. With a couple years under their belt now, and parties within town such as Boomtown, Moustache Ride, Pajamma Jammy Jam, Walk of Shame, and two years of Burning Man, they’ve proved they take having fun Seriously, and have only just begun. Recently branching out and hosting nights with much larger, well known international talent and plans to move to San Francisco in August, we can only sit on the edge of our seat to see what’s in this young man’s future. Ready. Set. Go."
