In around the year 2000, BassTrixx sold his guitar to buy a cheap pair of turntables to learn on. Influenced by DJs at rave parties around Toronto, BassTrixx was always determined to get behind the decks at live events, and really push his limits in the rave and club industry. By 2001, BassTrixx had aquired industry standard equipment to practice on, and get serious about DJing.
BassTrixx began his carreer playing UK Hard House, as he has always been a big fan of the more “hard/headbanging” beats and wanted to be known for his “in-your-face” style of DJing. Not to mention that NRG/HardHouse were his favorite genres in the electronic music world.
Erupting onto the Ontario rave scene by 2004, BassTrixx had began to establish a name for himself in and around London. Living up to his DJ name, his mixing style was different from any other DJ’s of his kind. In ‘04 and ’05, Mike had found himself behind the decks at massive outdoor stages like the World Electronic Music Festival (Canada’s largest electronic-music event), by getting selected in demo-mix competitions for new talent DJ’s.
BassTrixx has never failed to get a dance floor bouncing and bring an enormous energy to a venue. The excitement and effort that he puts into his sets, raises the bar over average DJ’s.
After 5 years of storage due to moving, BassTrixx has revived his decks, and more determined than ever to get out, get heard, and rock parties wherever hes given opportunity. Mike now aims his crosshairs to take down the Electro House scene, and continue bringing roof’s down in venues accross Canada.
