ANDREA TENILLE is a DJ and Vocalist, born with music in her bones, instilled from a young age with soul, traditional island beats and dance. Inspired by Rare Grooves, her musical style is described as a fusion of Neo-Soul meets House and Sophisticated Funk!
Andrea is RM’s first female DJ and Host, announcing weekly on Respect Music Radio which has been broadcasted on various stations around Australia including Radio Metro, Switch FM, Kiss FM & Lush FM. Andrea regularly spins rare grooves all around the Gold Coast from residencies to Special Events such as Product and Restaurant Launches, Armor All GC600 (Indy) & Melbourne Cup. You may have even caught her in 6 star style at the Palazzo Versace the finest Gold Coast Hotel, mixin’ it up at Skypoint AKA ‘Q1 Observatory’ the Gold Coast highest altitude lounge bar, keepin’ the house groovin at Sofitel’s Room 81, bringin’ back the Funk & Disco at Alto Cucina in Broadbeach or Chillin’ it out at a local Sunday Session or Poolside at Jupiters Casino.
She made a very fashionable female DJ debut being invited to perform at Fashion Model Academy (FMA) Fashion Shows at Circle on Cavill, Surfers Paradise Australia and kicked off the beats at Cancer Council’s “Girls Night In” Launch Party at Jupiters Casino Penthouse hosted by Miss Universe, Jesinta Campbell as well as appearances dropping commercial beats at Ally Fashion, Hit n Run and City Beach. Her higlight to date was performing alongside DJ Suly also from Respect Music for an exclusive Penthouse VIP NYE party for Mariah Carey in 2012.
In the studio Andrea has aligned with Gold Coast Funk outfit Rubber Johnson performing backing vocals & harmonies which led her to feature on an AGFA (All Good Funk Alliance) featuring RJ (Rubber Johnson) release with Super HiFi out of the USA. This was released on vinyl in late 2009 which includes remixes by Fort Knox Five and on the flip side a Kraak & Smaak remix. She has since become one of the members of RJ under the alias “CoCo Johnson” and has yet again collaborated with AGFA on their latest album, this time released on Fort Knox Recordings, titled “Jacks Of All Trades”. This album was released in mid 2012 featuring the track Mr Hipnoid of which had an appearance by Rubber Johnson and Andrea’s new alias. She has since continued to collaborate with ‘Rubber Johnson’ under the alias ‘Coco Johnson’ and has yet again collaborated with AGFA on their latest album, this time released on Fort Knox Recordings, titled ‘Jacks of All Trades’. This album was released in mid 2012. She is also currently working on a debut release through Respect Music Records.
Fast forward to 2016 and she continues to broaden her horizons working on several projects with both ‘Black Cherry’ and ‘Groove Sessions’.
